Set Back

Well this is going to be a long post. Pull up a chair.  Last week I went to the Dr's office for my lap band check up.  When they weighed me I was 119lbs.  I asked for fluid to be removed because I knew I had lost too much weight.  The band was too tight and causing gerd (sp) and also causing me to throw up alot!  She said I was the first person to say I lost too much weight.  They removed a tiny bit of fluid and it was great.  I could eat and drink without tossing my cookies!  After a day my weight jumped up to 128.  I wasnt too concerned because I knew I had been dehydrated.  A few days later I was in the high 130's.  Instead of feeling stronger I was feeling weaker.  Tuesday at my son's guitar concert I noticed my legs and ankles were swelling.  I have always had bird legs.  Even when I was over 200 lbs.  I had tankles and huge legs.  The next day I wasnt any better and my weight was in the 140's.  I went to the dr.  To make a long story short they are checking me for Congestive Heart Failure.  They also are running tests on my kidneys.  I was put on 20 mg of lasix.  My legs are still huge and I even notice swelling in my face.  I'm hoping we get the results of the tests soon.  I am calling the Dr in the morning to get more lasix to get through the weekend.  They have only given me three days worth and I take the last one tomorrow.

So please be careful.  Dont put off seeing the dr like I did.  I figured the extra fast weight loss was cool.  Let me tell you now it isn't!

Has anyone gone through anything similar?

My mother (75) has lymphoma and just the other day I had to call the Doc for an earlier appt. for her - was put onLasix, has to go for bld. work and they're doing an Echocardiogram.  I know this doesn' t pertain to you but know what you're going through. Let us know the outcome of everything.  You'll be in my prayers.

I hope the doc gets to the bottom of this quickly for you.  Prayers heading your way.

Oh my gosh I didn't even recognize you in your picture! You look wonderful - let me just say that first.

I am really sorry to hear about your health problems and am sending lots of prayers your way that it is NOT congestive heart failure - maybe just something weird going on in your body that will be able to be taken care of with some meds or PT.

Hang in there - take care of yourself and keep us posted.

Well as of this morning my weight is pushing 150lbs.  My face is even swollen now.  I am so upset for how I look.  I know that is vein but I really liked how I looked when I lost all this weight.    I am more concerned about all the fluid.  I dont even know how I got into my size 6 pants today. 

I have to work from 9 - 5 today and then I have a three day weekend.  I wish I didnt have to work but life insists.  I will call the dr's office today from work and tell them I am getting worse and ask for more lasix.  Hopefully my test results will be in and we will know where to go from there.
