More Cold Weather Monday Roll Call

Hi everyone.

It's a normal workday for me - fortunately at "work at home" day so I don't have to commute to Philly today. Tomorrow, yes. Not today.

Later I'll go to the gym, then taking dinner to a family from church who has a new baby boy. Funny story - their kindergartener is "student of the week" in his class. The kids are allowed to bring a "tame pet" to show and tell if they want to during their special week. So he asked his mom, "Can I take Adam? He's like a pet."

Good news - well, hopeful news - from daughter last  night. They live in Michigan and have a house that they have to rent out while her husband is in graduate school. It looks like some old family friends may be interested. They looked last night - unfortunately they have lost their house due to the terrible job situation in Michigan, and have filed bankruptcy, so getting a traditional rental is very tough for them. Sarah's house has a lot of charm but was built in 1917 - so tiny closets and bathrooms are not so charming! We are hoping and praying that it all comes together for all concerned, as the kids will be in very bad financial straits if they can't keep their house rented. Think good thoughts on this one!

Keep warm everybody!

Hey all. Throat is feeling better each day. I am hoping that these antibiotics will knock out the infection so I do not need to go see the ENT.
I have to go to court this am to be a witness against the girl that caused my car accident in oct. I makes me mad that i have to take my vacation time off for her stupid case. Then i have a full day of work waiting for me and only a half a day to do it and i am on call tonight. Needless to say it will be a stressful day.

I am getting the final things together for the tool kit group. I hope it actually happens, I only have 4 people that I know of so far.

Hope yal have a warm day, god it is arctic out there

Good mornin' Everyone.

Today has me busy already and it's only 9am.  Have already been up made lunch and breakfast for Robb, made breakfast for myself, taken him to work and dropped a couple of things at a friends house this morning before heading home.

Now I'm home and the cooking bug ha**** me again.  Currently I'm in the process of roasting chickpeas.  Then after that is done I'm going to try my hand at making a couple versions of Eggface's bites, ham and pea salad, and gingerbread custard.  Oh, and sometime before I leave to run a few other errands I need to put turkey burgers together tonight for dinner so I can put them into the oven when I get home.  Then a support group down here in Delaware tonight at 6pm

In the middle of all that I have to call and change all my PT appointments for later in the morning and reschedule an appointment with my neurosurgeon... not to mention start taking down all the Christmas decorations (I am so bad at that)

I think that's it for me today ... Even if it's not it will have to be enough.

Liz -- I hope you start feeling better soon.  Take care of yourself and your little one.

Take care,
Kris

Kris,

We must be on the same Eggface wavelength---those are the same recipes I've been wanting to make too.  I did the roasted chickpeas a few weeks ago but want to try them again, adding garlic powder this time.

Morning, Friends!

I am SOOOO sick of the unrelenting cold weather - I can't recall a time in recent years when it's gotten this cold and stayed that way for so long.  Just NOT fun!  Went out yesterday and bought glove liners to try and keep the hands a bit unfrozen, and a polartec hat because the others just weren't cutting it.  Sigh.

Today's the start of going back to the regular non-holiday routine.  Katie went back to school yesterday and this is a full week of work - depressing!  But I got myself to the gym this morning and then will be at work all day.  We have a big quarterly meeting all afternoon, through which i will try to stay awake - haha.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Morning all!

Today had me up at a somewhat decent hour (8:30).  My sleep schedule has been so off ever since getting home from the hospital.  I've been up until 2 or 3 in the morning and then sleeping until 10 or 11.  I don't have to go back to wor****il Feb. so I've got plenty of time to get the sleep schedule figured out.  At this point sleeping through the night is the ultimate goal!

Today has me focusing on getting all my liquids in (did that for the first time yesterday) and reaching my protein goals for the day.  I've come about 2/3rd's of the way the last 2 days on my protein, but today I'm determined to do it!  I finished off my first batch of protein ice cream from the eggface recipes yesterday and today I plan to make a second batch.  There are a lot of clean clothes and laundry that needs to be put away - so that will probably consume my afternoon.  Helping hubby with a presentation for work tonight.  It's about psycho-social theories that connect with technology in the workplace.  I'm actually excited that he's asked me for help and input on it.  It's the first time we've been able to combine our academic strengths on a project!

Still doing my best to take it easy - I know this will be short lived, so I better enjoy it while I can!  Oh, and a goal of up to 10 minutes on a light speed with no incline on the treadmill today.  I was originally going to walk outside, but it's too cold!

Have a great one!
Melissa

Good Morning Liz and all your freezing people,
I hate winter, and I hate this cold snap.  There, I said it.

I have work, and then a doctor's appointment afterward.  I have chest congestion, so I am going to have him check me out.  With my asthma, I must be careful, and this cold air is no fun on a good day.

After the appointment, I will probably just go home and unpack some more.  I would like to make progress in my living room this week.  Boxes have taken over and I am desperate to get rid of them.

Huggles,
Trish

Hope you feel better, Liz.

Back at work after playing around all weekend.  Everyone here is either out sick or coughing / hacking / sneezing.  Surgery is 2 weeks from today if none of these sickos infects me!

Zycam, Airborne, Zinc, & Vitamin C along with washing your hands and disinfecting YOUR surfaces, regardless of how they make fun of you.

The cold/upper respiratory infection/whatever the hell it is that is going around is FIERCE and not only comes on quick and STRONG but stays around for a LOOOOONG time.  A bunch of us have it at work...not fun....

Pam
