craving a hot dog
I don't know if it would be the best thing this early out, certainly not the regular kind of hot dog. If you really want to try one, get the fat free chicken or turkey kind or a vegetarian hot dog. Cut it up and chew the hell out of it. I am about 3 1/2 years out and on the rare occasion I eat one, it makes me sick and it does NOT sit well in my pouch. I have tried fat free kind and IMO they are plain ole GROSS LOL. Sometimes the craving (the fantasy) is better than the reality.

About once a month I`ll get a craving for a Richard`s, a Johnny`s, an Abe`s or a Jimmy`s dog. I get one dog, chew chew chew and have no ill effects. Sometimes I only eat a third or half.

You may be a little early out for that as others had said - but then again - you are on regular food now, right? I definately agree with norm and the others...ditch the bun, choose good toppings, and DEFINATELY get something like a low fat or chicken hot dog. They are readily available in most grocery stores. I think I have used the Ballpark brand which are pretty good
Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

I agree with the no bun, and Hebrew National or Nathan's, as they do not have sugar in them, and I believe one of them has a low-fat version. They use better quality beef, and no sugar, and I prefer the taste.
Wait as long as you can, and chew well.

Trish
