Exhausted

Anyone have extreme fatugue and exhaustion?  I have fought off a couple sinus infections in the last couple of months, plus I have been dealing with grief (I am on medication and go to therapy) but it's at the point no matter how much I sleep I need more.  I take my full vitamins everyday and drink.  I am getting proteins and what I should.  I have also stalled at 96ish pounds.  I tend to think it is all emotional but i just wonder if anyone else had this.  I sometimes have a sore throat and have been thinking maybe I have mono but I am unsure how I would have got that!  I see my surgeon on the 12th and will ask for early blood work- so I don't need the call our Dr advice, I just wondered if anyone else experienced this.  A nap should help LOL!

Spitballing...

Are you doing any kind of exercising?
It will invigorate the heck out of you if you're not. Especially first thing in the morning.

I know you said you're getting all your vits? Do you take a separate B12?

Dehydration may also contribute to fatigue, especially if you've been sick...

I have no idea about mono. Google is your friend!

Not sure if you're taking Vitamin D, but that could be the culprit too, especially this time of year. Get a good supplement and take at least 1,000 IU per day. I take 10,000 per day, but I'm deficient.

Well, to be frank, depression can do just what you're describing - it's something I've been fighting with my husband for several months now.  If you've recently started (or adjusted) meds for depression, keep in mind that they can take months to really kick in, so your doctor may need to prescribe something in addition to them to help you stay alert during the day.

When you say your "full vitamins" ... do they include B-12?  D?  I think of B-12 as my energy booster - I take a total of 5000 mcg daily and I see a dramatic difference in my alertness.  That's on the high side, but it seems to be pretty "right" for me - some folks take as little as 500mcg, but most seem to take 1000 - 2500mcg daily.

I also take a sublingual D tablet.  If you're taking one that you have to swallow, it may not be absorbed as readily, so even though you're taking it you may not be getting all the benefit from it - just a thought.

Finally - persistent sinus infections can be pretty insidious.  My daughter once had them for 2 years and it was really, really tough to completely get rid of them, even working with an ENT specialist.  If you've had multiple ones in a short timespan, it's worth investigating that angle a bit more (they usually do a CAT of your sinuses to determine what's really going on), because they can make you so fatigued.

Good luck and keep us posted!

I should also have mentioned re sinus infections that Katie is still fairly prone to them but seems to have finally "conquered" them by using a Neti pot on a regular basis to keep her sinuses flushed.  Her ENT said that they're a great idea, as well.   Just FYI.

You've gotten great advice - but I was going to suggest, as others have to have your B12 and iron checked. Also have them check your thryroid when they do the labs - all of these can contribute to fatigue.

Hope that you feel better!
