Elevated liver enzymes
An interesting dicussion point from Saturday's Barix support group meeting was the tendency for blood work to show an elevation in liver enzymes.
At 6 months, mine were up on this last round of blood work.
Is this fairly common? Have any of you longer term RNY'ers had to deal with this in any way? Dr. P. says that she will track my labs for the next 3 months, and if they are still high she may refer me to a gastroenterologist.
From what limited info I can pull up on line, elevated liver enzymes can be a side effect of significant weight loss - but is this cause for concern?

Mine are still elevated, but not nearly as high as they once were. Maybe, because I am not loosing at the rate I once was. I'm going to ask when I see him. I'm just glad that they are down. B12 is still really elevated, I'm sure I'll hear about that. Wasting my money on B-12 vitamins... oh well it could be worse.
Lynn, you look fantastic, when are you going to put a picture up to go with the face?
