Unjury and PCDAAS

There is a protein scoring system called Protein Digestibility Corrected Amino Acid Scoring (or PDCAAS) and Unjury supposedly gets a "100" rating, which is the highest.   This rating system is new since my surgery in 2006.   Maybe some of you know about it?   I tried Unjury back then and hated it, too gritty and thick in texture; tasted like cake batter, but I'll make myself gag it down as  I need to go back to shakes for supplementing protein.  Does anyone have recipes for using it that might help me?  I've always used Profect shots but this same scoring system only gives them a "6" for digestible amino acids so I'm looking for more bang for my buck.   H-E-L-P!!

I have not had surgery yet but my nutritionist raves about Unjury but also about Any Whey which is the only complete protein supplement that you can bake with, so i am told. In my support group meetings people really do give the Any Whey high marks, they claim it to not be gritty or thick and like I said before you can add it to recipes and bake with it.

I use Unjury, but not in the way most of thier recipies call for. I will throw a scoop into luke warm coffe for a "mocha", I use the unflavored in iced tea or other drinks. I don't use the entire scoop they provide though. It's too much and changes the consistency of what I am drinking. It makes it hard to calculate how much protein I am drinking, but at least I know I am getting it in.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

I use Unjury in my coffee everyday- a full scoop, but I put it in 20oz of Dunkin Donuts coffee. Can't see putting it in anything less than that, it makes it too thick.

I use Nectar because I could not bring myself to like the Unjury.  I don't remember its rating though.  I also use ready made Isopure Zero Carb Alpine punch which also has a 100 rating.  It is 15 grams in the 8 oz container.  The large 20 oz drinks are 40 grams and have the same rating.

Jackie, can you post the site or link where you found WLS products rated on the PDCAAS system?  It sounds really interesting and I can't find anything online about it.  I found information on the PDCAAS system, but not anything about different products that are out there that we might use.

Thanks!

Actually Mel, there wasn't any one place I could find a listing, I had to google the product names I knew + PDAAS or PCDAAS and I found ratings that way.   You will also find alot about the rating system written up under serious bodybuilding sites.   Even searching within OH and yahoo group boards like the low carb groups you'll find stuff as those folks tend to be superstrict and drink their protein goals in shakes first and anything eaten above that is "bonus".
