T-minus 4 days....
4 days from now, I will be in the hospital recovering from RNY. The butterflies are really getting to me. I am supposed to be on clear liquids on Tuesday in preparation for Wednesday. My kids asked me what I wanted my last meal to be. I told them I didn't know, but that I would pick 1 food to be my final food and once I ate that on Monday evening, I was done. I think that I will make "that" food, fresh pineapple. It is my favorite fruit.
I just wanted to say thanks ahead of time for all your support and encouragement. I am so glad that I found this group of wonderful people who are genuine and real. It makes any journey a little easier when you have people you know you can count on to tell you like it is.
I will have my daughter Kristen post a note on here Wednesday night letting you all know how I am doing. BTW, if all goes according to plan, I will be out of the hospital on Jan. 1, 2010. I can't think of a better way to start a new year, than with a new me.

John,
Best of luck on Wednesday. Your outlook and approach to this is "right on the money" so I know you're going to do just great!
Post-surg, especially, fresh pineapple has been a favorite for me, with a little low-fat cream cheese (balancing the pineapple carbs with the protein). That will be a little while out for you, but hopefully your new pouch will tolerate it just fine!
This year, when people wish you "Happy new year" tell them to wish you "Happy new LIFE" instead!
