Wow - I haven't started Roll Call since the summer - I LOVE winter break!  So - I just got home from playing Mah Jongg with some friends - what else is a Jewish girl supposed to do at 8 PM onChristmas night?  We got home from the mountains about 5ish - Larry and the kids sat down to watch a zillion movies, I unpacked, cleaned my room, made all the phone calls I had to make regarding my rescheduled Hanukkah dinner for Sunday - and was free to do whatever I wanted....so, off to Mahj I went!

So - after I go to sleep and wake up in a few hours, I really have nothing planned, I was thinking about going shopping, becuase, why not, get some good deals, see what is going on out there,   I REALLY need an under the hood microwave and need to get to a scratch and dent place, I would prefer to get one for a bit less money if possible.  Then we need to do some cleaning and prepping for the Hanukkah dinner, part two, on Sunday.

I hope all who celebrated had a nice holiday - and are now looking forward to the New Year!  I love that we get a chance to reflect on what has happened and what we would like to keep the same and what we think needs ot be changed.

I also want everyone to have a nice Saturday doing whatever it is that makes you happy! :)

wow I am sitting here gathering my thoughts as I hear the rain coming down and it is so miserable out.  Think I am going to pass on the after xmas sales this year and stay in my pjs today.  Last nite was a good dinner with prime rib stuffed potatoes and broccolli and of course I only had a sliver of prime rib and small helping of potatoes and some broccolli.  Had a piece of apple pie and did okay with it.  Would I press my luck?  No.  I am glad the holidays are almost over.  Steph you are funny I haven't played mah Jong in years and backgammon I wonder if I can remember how?  The New Year has me making some serious decisions but I won't go into that now.  I hope everyone had a nice holiday.  Everybody have a great day.

Good Morning Steffie & PA:

Up and trying to decide if I want to drive to the gym or just take a walk on the treadmill and stay dry this morning.

Had a great few days.  Christmas eve spent with Gene's family.  It was great to see our niece and nephew and great nephew that all live out in Pittsburgh.  Christmas day we spent in NJ with my two daughters and their spouses.  It was so nice to spend a day with the girls together in one place.

Gene is working on some writing for his final professional paper that must be submitted by the end of January.  Hopefully he will take a good chunk out of it, 50 pages to write YIKES......

Hope everyone stays dry today while hitting all the after Christmas sales for those that are going....

I think I'll check some out on-line.....

Good morning, all!

I hope everyone had a good day yesterday!

We're supposed to be leaving for Georgia this morning to see my BF's family.  He and his son are still asleep.   I'm letting them sleep so they'll be well-rested for the drive.  I don't particularly want to go, but Paul hasn't seen his dad in 1.5 years.  Early in our relationship, his dad didn't like me.  He judged me just on a photo, and didn't like me because I was overweight.  He likes me now (long story, but he has seen me stick with his son through a bad car accident and several surgeries).  And he and his wife have no idea that I had wls, so they're going to be surprised when they see me.  Should be an interesting trip!

Have a great day, everyone!

Hi, folks,

Today is a "better" day than yesterday.  I am on firmer emotional footing and feeling more empowered.  This cold is still getting me down, but last night I actually slept through the night for the first time in a week - actually slept until 10:30 this morning, which is unheard o***** up, had my protein shake, cleaned up some of the detritus from the holiday in the family room, and am just chilling out with Katie (who also has a cold).

I'm looking forward to a nice open house later tonight, and chilling with supportive friends.

Tomorrow I should try to get to the various stores to exchange the gifts that are too big - or maybe I'll wait until monday.  We'll see.

Peace to all of you.
