Jo - our local Hallmark stores sell real frogs in little plastic boxes (air holes of course) with water & greenery in them.  They put two frogs in each box.   I just saw them the other day.  I think the idea of the box is really just to get them home and then transfer them to something a little bigger.  I just saw them again the other day.  They are cute little things.

Well since my better half reads the boards and so does my best friends I really can not share anything I bought anyone now can I???

I was at a total loss for my family this year they all kept saying I don't know or I don't care so as much as I hate it I went the gift card route of shopping. So everyone is getting pajamas and a gift card.

I love the way the tree is looking right now with all the gifts under it just waiting...

The gift that I am having my daughter deliver, is a gift certificate, to a family at my grandson day care, whose son has cancer, he has lost his left had, and a portion of his tongue.  They are having problem with not enough money for gas to go back and forth to the hospital.  (hence the gift card).  This will be my project for the new year, as this is not just for Christmas, it is something I can not forget.

Live a Life That Matters
(Author Unknown)

Ready or not, someday it will all come to an end.

There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours, or days.
All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else.
Your wealth, fame, and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.

It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed.
Your grudges, resentments, frustrations, and jealousies will finally disappear.
So, too, your hopes, ambitions, plans, and to-do lists will expire.

The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.
It won't matter where you came from, or on what side of the tracks you lived, at the end.
It won't matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant
Even your gender and skin color will be irrelevant.

So what will matter? How will the value of your days be measured?

What will matter is not what you bought, but what you built; not what you got, but what you gave.
What will matter is not your success, but your significance.
What will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught.

What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others to emulate your example.

What will matter is not your competence, but your character.
What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you're gone.

What will matter is not your memories, but the memories that live in those who loved you.
What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what.

Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident. It's not a matter of cir****tance but of choice.

This is a FABULOUS thread!  Well, I am hoping that one of their favorite gifts is the gift of a family get away for a few days now to the mountains and then to Boston next week.

However, being that Hanukkah just past, I can tell you the best things that the kids loved was the American Girl Doll Emily, that Emily received, I think Molly loved her Justice clothes and soft and fluffy slippers and I think Josh was just surprised and pleased to open anything because for the first three nights of Hanukkah he was away and his dad and I gave him cash for the trip, so the fact that he had anything to open on those last few nights of hanukkah were a big surprise.

I also got, and have not yet delivered a wonderful wall hanging for my step-dad and his finace - that says Grandkids with places for pictures.  I think they will love putting their new family together!

HOWEVER.....the BEST gift of all, is that I gave my family a healthy me for the rest of my life! (Awww....isn't that sweet! :))

Happy holidays everyone! :)

The best present I think I gave this year was donating to a family in need through an adopt a family thing we did at work this year!

Oh and then there is Roxie, I think I can say that I gave her something, a home that she can thrive and be well loved in. . .

Grandkids are getting a variety of things that their Mommie's and Dad's said they wanted and that about covers it, as it's been a year of financial stuff and so only children were on my list this year, well except Tony, who I got Under Armour to keep him warm, as he works outdoors. . .

Have a Merry or Happy, be safe and give yourself the best gift of all, doing what works towards healthy living!

Hugs, Laureen
