X-MAS Eve roll call

Looks like the rest of the world has off work today since it is 7:30 and nobody has started the roll call.  I am lucky enough to have a job, but that also means that I have to work today.  Ok Ok, so I don't celebrate X-mas, but it would still be nice to have an extra day off.   If all goes well, they will let us go early today.  Siehara has off of school starting today until January 4.  Give me strength!!!

So, anyway... work today until 3:30 or until they say we can stop.  After work, shower and go over to one of the local synagogues for a family fun night of movies and kosher Chinese food.  It's a typical Jewish Christmas to do Chinese food and movies, so they made it an "official" event. LOL! It should be fun and it's not at my synagogue, so hopefully we'll get to meet some new people in the process.

Hope you all have a healthy and happy holiday, no matter what and how you celebrate.  Enjoy the time spent with family and friends and cherish every moment.

I shared this on Steffi's bathing suit thread last night, but wanted to put it out there again.. funny song about Jews and Christmas.   www.youtube.com/watch

Good morning, and happy Christmas Eve to those that celebrate!

I'm working today until around 2:00, if you can even call it working since there are very few of us here and everyone is in full-on goofing-off mode.  The great news is that this is my last day of wor****il January 4th. Woo hoo!!!

After work, I need to pick up a few last-minute gifts (of course), go to the gym, then I'm heading to my parents' house for Christmas Eve dinner.  After dinner, I'm serving at Midnight Mass (which is actually at 10pm, go figure!), and I'll also be chanting the preface and other parts of the liturgy.  I'd better practice at some point before then! Oh and I need to steam the wrinkles out of my vestments too. Like I don't have enough to do already...

I hope everyone has a happy and healthy holiday, and that those of you who don't celebrate enjoy the downtime and get some rest & relaxation!

Lesley

Good Morning Pa,
A few last presents to wrap.  Waiting for my son-in-law to come home, so I can make my last trip of the year home back to Pa.  Tomorrow after church, we will head down to our home in Tenn.  Get the house down there ready for the winter months, and a few days in Dollywood, just to let my husband unwind.  (he loves it there)  Then will head back to Pa before the New Years, to start the weekly trek, from Pa to Salisbury Md every week to take care of the grands while my daughter works midnights.  Then off to Disney on the 9th.  Can't wait.  So will not be posting for about a week.  Have a safe, healthy, Happy Holiday.

Well, I'm working too....but not till later!

I was busy this morning.  Spent some time with Brian then got up and prepped some stuff for a quiche I am making tomorrow to take to work.  Also got a load of laundry done.

Then I ran out for a few things.  We are only allowed to wear solid black at work - so I had gotten rid of all of my "fun" scrubs.  But there will be NO management there tonight and tomorrow night and us night shift people have decided to wear our black pants and holiday tops tonight and tomorrow.  Soooo...I needed to run out and get them!  I also picked up some bagels for tomorrow morning and stuff.

Now I'm home...packed my food for work tonight and am getting my new awesome flat iron ready.  Hubby bought me a really nice one last night as my Christmas present - they used it on me in the mall - and holy schmoly - it worked FANTASTIC.  I tried it myself to make sure I could do it - and I did pretty good on the few sections I did.  Now to see if I can do my whole head!

After I do that, I'm gonna convince hubby to put in my Chirstmas shows on DVD (charlie brown, the grinch, and Garfield, all the old ones....) and much to his dismay make him watch at least one or two of them with me.

Then it will be  a nap and up and to work.

Have a safe and happy holiday, and please be careful if you are traveling!

Pam

LOL LIsa....I don't know if you've ever seen "A Christmas Story" but there is a scene, after their Christmas Dinner is ruined, where they go to a Chinese Restaurant and have dinner there...with the waiters singing "fa ra ra ra ra ra ra ra RAAAHHH" with deck the halls.  I couldn't help but picture that in a synagogue!

yep, Christmas Story.. matter of fact, the TBS marathon starts at 8PM.  I don't know if I've ever seen the entire thing from start to finish, but I've seen just about every part of it.  I don't remember that part though.  Maybe this will be the year I watch it from beginning to end.

We'll sing CHA CHA CHA CHA CHA CHAAAAAAA   LOL!
