Surgery on Jan 5th.

This is my first post other than the blog I just posted.  I have gotten over all of the hurdles, insurance is approved and the date for my RNY is set.  I go on my pre-op liquid diet on new years eve! (OMG not the liquids I thought I would be having! LOL).  No matter, I am ready.  I have lost a little weight in the last couple of weeks but at 280 lbs the Dr didn't require any loss before surgery.

I am ready.  I hate my type 2 diabetes more and more every day.  I really despise the lows and have been working with my endocrinologist to balance meds so the lows don't come.  I will try to upload some pictures as soon as I figure out how.

To all waiting, keep the faith... for those post op, my best to you.

Hi Mark,

Welcome to the PA board.  It is one of the best on OH.  Hope that you enjoy your holidays and what a wonderful way to start 2010 with the gift of WLS.  It will be here before you know it.  Remember to stay present to the moment - don't go too far into the future because that usually is filled with anxiety and looking at the past usually comes with guilt and regret.  There will be a spot for you on the losers bench after the surgery.  Take care.

Welcome, Mark!  Your journey to "the new you" will be here before you know it.  Your attitude is positive and keep your focus on WHY you are doing this and you'll be just fine.  We'll save you a nice seat on the loser's bench!
