Snowy Saturday Roll Call!

I hope everyone got out to get bread and milk last night!

Of course it's snowing, and honestly I'm grateful for a day that may be a bit simpler than the pre-holiday frenzy.

Worked in Philly the last 2 days, went to Target last night, and was really tired at the end of it all.

So today...venturing out to brush snow off the cars, then will work out for an hour. Mike is going to do some shopping while I'm at the gym. After that? Home for gift wrapping, laundry, and I guess a final inventory of what needs to be done at Santa's workshop (Lititiz Division).

I might cook something yummy since there's a little domestic streak that comes out on days like this.

Enjoy the snow and I hope  none of you HAVE TO do too much today. Stay safe if you're driving!

Hi all,

Today, I'm not too sure what is going on.  It was supposed to snow but I don't see any coming down and the road is still clear.  I am sure that is short lived.  Now that is a craxy statement lol.

I applied for a couple jobs this week.  As much as I enjoy being a volunteer, it doesn't bring in any income.

You all have anawesome day!

Good Morning Lynn, PA,

Here I am in Florida, the weather here has not been great and now it is up there creating havoc and I'm supposed to be flying home tomorrow, which I think will be ok, however, my car is parked in an outdoor lot and I have not put the ice scraper in the trunk yet, oh it should be fun when I get home tomorrow.  Hope everyone stays safe and I do wish I were there to watch the snowfall, as it is something I love to do, watch everything transform into a blanket of white and that muffled sound of everything, turns the world bright. . .  enjoy!

Hugs, Laureen

wow almost everyone must be sleeping in this am I am up with the dogs and have to start my exercising with my cpm machine as I just had my shoulder surgery done wednesday and am quite sore.  I am going to try to chill out today no pun intended and just let it snow as if I have any other options. I live right behind the PA turnpike and see police cars with the lights going by so I am going to guess its a mess!  If you don't have to go out I wouldn't however today is the last weekend for xmas shopping so for the few brave of us good luck and be safe and stay warm.  Have a great day.I can remember when people would rush to the supermarket and stock up on the staples eggs, milk, bread, cereal in case of a power out and butter and most of all toilet paper so I would say to myself what do the poop more when it snows?!  I thought that was funny.

The doggie and I got up early and ventured out into the winter wonderland that arrived overnight. I normally don't go out in the snow because of my knees but I got new boots this year and figured why not. Besides, the little furball had to do his business, so we walked to the top of the hill, he did his thing, I got a newspaper and we high-tailed it back to the house - it was blowing and nasty by the time we got back. Now we're in for the day.

Guess today will be spent cleaning, doing some laundry, and wrapping a few gifts that my sister sent up from Florida for her soms who are spending xmas with us.

Everybody stay warm, safe and dry - don't go out unless you absolutely have to.

Good snowy morning, all!

I'm snuggled up on the couch, wrapped in my favorite fleece blanket, with a kitty snuggled up to me.  I enjoy sitting here with a cup of tea, watching the snow come down.  The only thing I don't like is the thought of having to go out and dig out later.  We went out at 11:30 last night to get gas for the snow blower, when we suddenly weren't sure if there was any in the shed.  Hey, better late than never, right??  While he was getting the gas, I wandered around Walgreens and picked up some stocking stuffers.  Had a coupon that dropped dead at midnight and wanted to take advantage of the savings.

I finished up at my job yesterday.  The day went well---no tears or sadness.  I really liked that job, so I'm a little sad about that, but I'm grateful for the experience and skills I picked up.  I've been trying to file for unemployment, but the website is "experiencing technical difficulties."  Can't wait till they get it fixed so I can get that out of the way.

Have a great day, everyone!  Stay warm and dry!!!

Morning... the snow actually has NOT started here yet.  BUT, the sky looks like it's coming.   I am disappointed with the weather, though, because it killed my plans for today.  My sister lives in Delaware and they already have at least 3 inches there, so she can't come up.  Step-mom lives in Lehighton, so I'm sure it hasn't started up there yet.  But, Chanukah dinner plans for today have just been canned.  Oh well, such is life I guess.  Figuring this would happen, we did bring our presents up to step-mom last night so at least we were able to exchange with her.    The dang white stuff also means that I can't go OUT OUT tonight.. my sister was going to babysit.

Alright, enough complaining.  There is nothing I can do about the weather, so we are going to head to synagogue this morning since it hasn't started yet.  Then, I'm sure we will be driving home in it, but we don't live too far so it won't be so bad.  This afternoon I guess will be spent snuggled up in the new plush blanket I got at the gift exchange last night, drinking decaf and watching movies while Siehara goes outside to play!   I do like the snow, I'm just mad that it ruined my plans for the day.  I am also grateful, that I have a crew of people to clear the parking lot in my complex, so I only have to worry about cleaning off my car.

That's it for me... maybe I'll do some cleaning.  And, I'm going to have to cook some of the stuff I bought for tonight's dinner--like the asparagus so it doesn't go bad.  Guess we are having chicken and asparagus and who knows what else for dinner.

OOOOhhhh.. I can pop out one of my exercise videos and do that since I won't go to the gym in the white stuff.   Or, maybe even go out and play in the snow with Siehara.

I'm going to make this a good day!!!

Be safe everybody!

Morning, Friends....

I'm DRAGGING today... just got out of bed and only because I have to get stuff shipped today.  Throat's really scratchy and nose is clogged.  Uh oh. I do NOT want to be sick this week.  Sigh.  After I get my stuff done, I'm going to come home and go back to bed for a while, I think - try to nip this in the bud.

Of course, I also can't find my snow boots.  I moved the boot box when i reorganized the garage this summer and of course can't remember where I put it.  How frustrating!

I was also supposed to be going to a party tonight, but I have a feeling that one's getting cancelled or postponed.  If we DO get 8 - 10 inches, I'm not driving to a party in it.

ARGH.  I think that sums up today.

Be safe, people!

I do not do well with imposed captivity. This has been a very interesting perspective for me this am. I remember when I lived in philly with my ex husband. Almost every weekend was, sitting on the couch, eating maybe venturing out to a movie but we really were couch potatos. We could go to the grocery store on a snow warning and get tons of junk food to sit and eat the whole time.
Now I a,m never idle on the weekends, I am always going or doing. Now that I have to sit and  be calm for a weekend. I am agitated and irrtable. It is so amazing how things change.

I am not saying that not being able to enjoy a snow day in my PJ's with nothing to do is a good thing necessarily. I am now thinking of all the household projects I should tackle. But it is always intereresting to get flashes of how different things are now than they used to be.

Take care all and stay warm.
