I know it's  not a "stall" but I haven't lost any weight at all this week. Kind of at one of those points where I am up and down the same pound every day (and yes, I weigh every morning, for better or for worse).

Wasn't there a suggestion to adjust calorie intake a bit each day to kick start the system again? My usual calorie intake is about 800/day. I do struggle to keep fat intake at 20 or below - most days I end up at about 30 g. of fat (especially if I have had a cheese stick, peanut butter, or scrambled egg that is not egg beaters).

Suggestions anyone?

You may need to increase the calories a bit...your body may be at a point where it thinks it is being starved and its holding on to the fat.  Are you exercising? Increasing the exercise may be a helpful thing too.   Nanette is really good at tweaking things, so she may have some input.

It could also just be a "womanly" thing...water weight, etc.  I know its tough, but don't stress over it.

Lynn,

You already know the answer to this - it's the title of your post!  PATIENCE.

The farther out you get from your surgery, the more your body will make adjustments and the pounds of change on the scale will slow or stall for a while.  There are multiple things that can be happening during this time:
*  Water weight
*  Constipation weight
* Fat to muscle conversion (why taking your measurements can really help with this)
* Metabolism changes to "conservation" mode

For the first one, watch your sodium intake and drink more water.

For the second one, drink more water, increase your fiber (benefiber) and take a laxative and/or stool softener.

For the latter two, adjusting your exercise regimen can help (do less weights, more cardio for a while, for example).  For the metabolism change, a change to the balance of what you're eating (more calories, less carbs, different proteins, different times of day, etc.) can help shake things up.

Having said all that - a week is NOT a long time.  If the scale hasn't moved in 2 - 3 weeks, THEN I'd start changing things up a bit and experimenting.   But don't panic, either way.

Hang in there!

I am 14 months out and I have gotten down to 133 lbs from 264.. I know exactly where you are coming from.. My goal weight is 125. I am almost there and I had so many weeks were the scale didn't move.. Like you I weighed every day.. So many people yelled at me for that but I have to do it.. I went a month not losing called my dr.. he told me just keep what I was doing and the scale would move I lost 22 lbs the following month..

My surgeon does not have us counting calories.. We go off the size of our food and off our stage 4 diet.. He has us eating protein 1st if there is any room left then we get our carbs.. I have asked him so many times how many calories and he just grumbles at me and tells me don't count calories then people tend to make bad food choices.. he says just eat my meat, cheese, peanut butter, and eggs 1st then if there is room eat the other foods I can have.

I know what you are feeling.. If my weight loss stopped now I would be more than ok with that as I really thought I would never weigh less than 160 lbs..

good luck I am sure you will be ok..

my dr says if I start to put any weight back on.. that I am ton cut carbs eat only protein and increas activity.. if you decide to increas activity its more reps lighter weights.
