treatment update
Well I've made it through my first chemotherapy session, was sent home with 4 different meds that control nausea, which I switch around depending on how I feel. I've only had mild twinges, no real appetite, but I am keeping my protein/fluids/vitamins and resting a priority. Today I had my head shaved. I can't bear the thought od seeing it fall out in clumps. So head scarves are now my best friends. It was nice to see so many folks at the Sat. Barix meeting. The inspiration to stay on track was just what I needed to hear. My dietary needs aren't really much different from what I should already be eating. I'm going to try to get back to work Tuesday night, just staying out of the isolation rooms. Thank you everyone for all of your support,
Chris

Chris,
I'm sorry I didn't get to see you at the meeting on Saturday :(
Your spirit is amazing, as is your continued strength.
Thanks for the update! I've been thinking about you. Know that you are ALWAYS in my thoughts and prayers.

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

Chris - your ***** is amazing! I know the Chemo was hard on my Mom but your positive attitude and sprirt will get you through it. She made a vow to herself when she was going for her 1st treatment that she wouldn't let the chemo make her sick. You have that same spriit.
PLease stop in and keep us posted when you can! Think of you often

Chris,
Sorry I missed seeing you at the Saturday meeting. i would have loved to give you a hug. You have all my best wishes as you go through this.
Scarves can be beautiful... and so can bald heads! When my friend Laura was going through chemo, she was really gorgeous with her bald head. So don't be afraid to flaunt it (when the weather permits, of course!).
Keep your nutrition up as best you can and keep holding to that wonderful positive spirit. It will carry you through this journey as it has carried you through WLS.

Chris, I'm glad you checked in. I was at Barix on Saturday, but did not know you were there or I would have been sure to talk to you. Glad things are going pretty smoothly and that you are trying your best to get in your fluids, proteins and vitamins. They will keep you strong as you go through this.
Keep strong!! We are here for you.

Chris,
Sorry I missed having an opportunity to speak with you at Barix last week. . . you truly are an inspiration within what you are going through with grace and dignity. I believe that with your attitude you will beat the big C!
I was up in your area today to meet with a dog rescue kennel and it is beautiful up there, Jersey keeps getting expensive, I just might make a move in the direction of the PA. . . oh and I am getting my new companion in 9 or 10 days.
Sending you positive healing thoughts, Laureen
