Rainy Wednesday Roll Call
Morning all - I'm getting a late start this morning in more ways than one. Woke up and heard that wind and rain pounding against the house so I turned off the alarm and went back to sleep for a while. Hubby is home today and I didn't feel like driving in during the dark, rainy weather, so I got to work a little late - still beat everybody else in.
Am leaving at 2:00 today for a dr's appt - think I have an outbreak of MRSA on my left breast - at first I thought it was something else but the pain is increasing, it is swelling more and becoming harder and redder, so I'm 99% certain its MRSA, which I have had in the past but nothing since my surgery. ARGH. So the doctor is fitting me in at 2:00 today to look at it and hopefully give me a script for antibiotics to get rid of it.
Other than that not much else going on. Was going to play hooky from work tomorrow and go shopping but its supposed to be bitter cold and windy now, so I think I'll wait til next week.

Good morning Laureen and PA,
I slept in this morning until 7 a.m. and it felt really great. It's pretty yucky outside this morning....it would be a good day to bake Christmas cookies, but I probably won't bake any until the week of Christmas so my DH can have some chocolate chips.
Not too much going on except work, hoping to get on the treadmill after that, practice my piano lesson and then hoping to finish decorating.

Today is one of those crazy days already - and it's not even 11! Finished up a staff meeting and a student appointment already, just a few more to go and then a long meeting tonight that goes until 7... boo - I hate when work goes past 6ish, I just get grumpy about it.
I'm feeling the pressure to get things done and as usual, my boss is taking on more than we can handle. She's known since August that my surgery, if approved, would probably be in January. She's known for a month now that the date is Jan. 5th and I'd be out at least the month of January and possibly the first 2 weeks in February. Her taking more and more on for us to do this time of year is not uncommon, but it's kind of making me feel like she doesn't realize how much she's going to lose when I'm not there for those 4-6 weeks. On top of that I get 2 weeks off the last week of December because the college is closed (thank god!). Other than her, I'm the only full time person in our office, the 2 others are part time - and typically don't like to pitch in. Ryan says that my boss is one of those people that won't realize how much I do until I'm gone... I guess 6 weeks of not being in the office will be a good test. Maternity time off in a few years should be interesting - this is a nice little warm up to see how people will react!
Other than that I'm just exhausted. Hoping that I didn't catch the head cold that Ryan's had for the last 3-4 days. Looking forward to early bed tonight already - just 11 more hours to get there =)
Our family is stuck in the blizzard at home in Iowa today, so although the rain and slush sucks, I'm more than thankful that our weather is nothing compared to what it would be if we still lived at home! Have a cozy afternoon everyone!
