I had to respond to this post.  I makes me so sad to read the posts about people who would give anything to get weight loss surgery and there is a new post -op doing this kind of crap.

I'm not trying to act like I'm a wise WLS veteran who knows it all, but doling out the hand smack on this one had to be done.  I felt so fortunate to be able to get WLS and followed all the rules when I was a new post-op.

This is why I can't read the main board very often.

This woman is (excuse me) nuts. She's early in her surgical recovery, and bragging on her profile page that she jumped out of the Christmas parade in her town to go buy cotton candy...and proceed to eat half a bag (which she later described as 3 bites). She also said that "sugar and I go hand in hand." It's as if she views possible dumping as the ONLY benefit of her surgery.

Well...she's lucky she doesn't have MY doctor! Dr. P. would take her apart. The other thing that amazes me is how many of the replies are cutting her slack...

Sad to see people who don't get it that behavior change is the real key. You can see where this one is going.

DRAMA

I haven't been on the main board since 2 weeks post op.  I did read the link (well - part of it, before I got so nauseated with the drama they cause

Not only is she ridiculous, the whole lot of them are!

You can add me to the ridiculousness then. I posted. Twice.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

I didn't see your post - like I said - I stopped reading early on when they were attacking each other for various answers and what not.  I have a feeling you are probably one of the sane ones :)

Way too much drama over there for my taste - I can understand a sincere question about foods following WLS, but anybody with half a brain knows cotton candy is a huge NO-NO. She was looking for drama and it appears she got it!

I like a good train wreck once in awhile. And that's where I go to find it.

There is another post where someone reminded the poster that she already said she tried a reeses peanut butter cup at Halloween and some other sweet thing.

So that's 3 different times (that she posted about) where she tested the waters.

I find it too funny that she is going back and thanking and god blessing the people that where telling her that it was ok.

(and I can afford to lose any !)

I admit it - I couldn't resist. (Train wreck syndrome here too). I read the thread PLUS pieces of her profile blog.

If you glance at her blog you see that she is being totally dishonest. She claims that she has dumped on cherry pie...

That she ate a PB cup at Halloween..

And now the cotton candy.

WHen was the surgery date anyway!!! This is what gets me about these folks who precipitate all this drama. There is a lot of attention seeking, and a real shortage of honesty it seems.

Makes me appreciate our little community here. (Not that I can't recall a bit of drama here a while back, but overall....) We know what we're about here. It's very good.

I occasionally read the posts on the main board, but it's generally pretty negative stuff on there.  I did have to read this thread.  Way too much drama!  But Lisa, Jo, and Laureen---loved your responses to her!
