I'm headed to Trader Joes for the first time since my surgery. I saw items that some of you buy there and really like but I can't find them now. I was curious, what do you like to buy when you go there? I open to suggestions. Thanks.

Off the top of my head, here's what I get at TJ's:
- frozen fish (ahi tuna, mahi mahi, shrimp, a shrimp with vegetable stir fry, scallops)
- frozen veggies and frozen fruit (great selection of both)
- Greek yogurt
- hummus
- Marsala sauce, Piccata sauce -- I use them to simmer chicken
- canned beans
- chicken or beef or pork, if on sale
- coffee (I *love* their Gingerbread coffee now -- makes up for Starbucks not having SF gingerbread syrup. It's like Christmas in a cup!)

I also buy household type items there (soap, lotion, etc) and canned cat food. But I don't eat those!

Hope this helps,
Lesley

Lesley, Da Vinci has sugar free gingerbread syrup. I got a bottle at The Restaurant Store but haven't tried it yet. Their locations are on their website. It's also available from netrition.com.

Thanks, Julia!  I had heard that they had it, and I was actually thinking of ordering it and bringing it with me to Starbucks and asking them to put two pumps of it in my latte.  I am VERY angry with Starbucks for not having SF holiday flavors this year, and I've been emailing them about it and saying snarky things to them on Twitter about it.  I figure since I'm a shareholder they have to listen to me complain! :)

The cat food lesley - you CRACK me up.  I wonder what the protein content in it is?  Maybe we should!  LOL  Call it pate!
Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

Mmmm... pate! Hilarious! I will have to remember that in case I have any people drop by that I don't like. The cat food is grain free so it's chock full o' protein! Yum!

Thanks Lesley, this gives me a start. The gingerbread coffee does sound good that will be a definite I think. Since I'm not big on pate, I think I'll stay away from the cat food.LOL.
