ok so maybe I still need to not put that in my mouth if I have not measured it!!!  apparently  I still don't know how much a 1/2 cup is without my measuring cup.

I haven't learned that either, and my 1/2 cup keeps growing.  Sorry you got sick, Sandra!

That's why I love the little ziploc/glad containers ... specific portions.  I use them every day, pretty much every meal to allocate my portions of stuff.  I've got a bunch of the 1/2 cup and 1 cup.

I also swear by my food scale - a great investment.  I'm frequently surprised (sometimes happily, sometimes not) by weighing out my portions of proteins.

Amazing how portions "creep" up when you don't measure, isn't it?

Hugs.

Karen,

What kind of food scale do you have?  I've been reading up on digital scales - and it looks like the biggest loser scale is getting pretty good reviews.  (It doesn't hold a lot of food, but then again... we really shouldn't need it to!).

I used my ziploc, tupperware, glad containers all the time before surgery - I can't imagine the use they'll get after!

I certainly hope you are not a repeat offender - I know I am!!  Maybe not so much with portion - but with eating to fast.  I still do it from time to time.  And it SUCKS each and every time.

You'll get better at it.....
