Got my date!!!!
Well after going through this pre-op journey since last febauary i have finally completed everything and met my surgeon. Im going to be having my surgery out at Geisinger in Danville and i am getting very excited! My surgeon is Dr. Petrick and I am very please with him and his bedside manners are very well. he was very polite and answered all my questions! My day of the Surgery is actually going to be 2 days after my birthday on January 29th...so I now started a countdown until that day when my whole life will change for the better!
Jamie,
Congratulations on getting your date. This is a most exciting time, on some levels it will seem like forever and then you suddenly realize the day is upon you and the second thoughts occur, that is not so for everyone, but many do have them. What I did pre-op was prepare for my post-op life in the form of getting used to drinking more fluids, cutting back on my caffeine so I did not get the crash that comes from being a heavy caffeine drinker. Don't stock up on too many things in the way of protein things, because many times your taste buds post-surgery change, get the s/f jello, s/f pops, broth and that sort of stuff so that you can get through the initial phase post surgery, all doctors are different, but most have you on liquids the first week out.
Enjoy, you are about to lose what holds you back from living and gain a whole new lease on life.
Best wishes, Laureen

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen
