10K completed
So, I ran a 10K on Thursday morning. It was tough and full of hills. I made good time though and I am proud of myself. I actually like the 10K distance it's a little more challenging than a 5K.
After the race we went back to the car and someone broke into it and stole my purse. My life was in that bag. Happy Thanksgiving to me! 48 hours later things are getting better but I have been living in a total nightmare. But, it could have been worse. They even stole our race shirts! I am so thankful that my good friends were there to take care of me. I was in shock and disbelief and they took care of everything.
Warning - leave nothing in your car, not even if you tuck it out of sight like I did!

Congratulations on finishing the 10k!!! That's awesome!!!
I'm so sorry that your car was broken into and your purse stolen. That just plain sucks. When I was out walking very early one morning a few months ago, I discovered that someone had gone through my friend/neighbor's car, apparently looking for her GPS. That's just plain wrong. It's a terrible personal violation, not to mention a pain to close credit cards and replace things. I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this!

GOOD FOR YOU!!! That's a tough distance, especially with hills, and you've obviously trained hard and accomplished an amazing amount to do it successfully. You should be very, very proud of yourself!
It really sucks, though, that some moron had to burst your happy bubble by stealing your purse. These days, you really need to be concerned with identity theft, so make sure you watch your credit reports REALLY carefully over the next year - not just the cards you hold, but your actual credit reports. And make sure you file a police report, as well... when we had a card number stolen, we were advised to make the police report, and the very nice detective we met with told me that in cases like this you need to watch your free reports very carefully. You get a free report from each of the credit agencies yearly, but you don't have to take them all at the same time - you can space them out and take one every 4 months so you're monitoring it. I think there also may be a law that if you've reported a theft like this that you can get them more frequently (check with your bank, too - some offer that protection for their customers).
HUGS!!! and congrats!!!

Congratulations!!!! That is an incredible accomplishment. You should be VERY proud of yourself.
As far as the break in I agree with everyone else that just plain sucks. They will pay for it someday. Make sure you take care of business, cancelling your cards and watching your credit reports and such. So sorry you are having to deal with this.
