I really want to start going to support meetings so I thought I would post on here to see if I could find someone either in Erie or around Erie that travels up to Erie for the support groups.

If any of you here do that, I could really use some support in this journey.

My husband can only do so much for me as he doesn't fully understand what I'm going through.

The friends I did have here abandoned me when I had the surgery because they didn't want to be the "fat friend" once I started losing weight. My mom was considering having the surgery but then met a woman who didn't take care of herself after having RNY done and has basically wasted away to literally skin and bones - she's barely five feet and weighs less than 90 lbs.

So, okay. Enough rambling.

Let me know if any of you care enough and are close enough to hang out or at least attend a meeting or two with me.

The most I can offer is being a cyber friend since I am HOURS away from you. But feel free to post here, email or PM me, or whatever. I understand what you mean. It can be tough.

I can help and be your support on here, as I live near Niagara falls. I understand the whold friend abandoning you thingy and husband not understanding when we go through. I am going through the same thing. It is hard, no doubt... Good Luck, and email me anytime :)
