Hi Friends!

Slept late this morning (felt WONDERFUL), then got myself to the gym in time for an hour zumba class.   Got home, and everyone else wanted pizza for lunch, and of course I had to go get it - dropped pizza off to eddia at work, becky at work and brought some home to katie.  This was the first time I've been in a pizza place since surgery and it was TOUGH... i SO wanted a slice.  But i didn't have anything and managed to not pick at any of it.

Today has us going to a fondue place to celebrate Becky's grad project and to say goodbye to katie and will as they head back to school tonight .  Should be fun - i haven't been in a fondue place in years, but I seem to remember it being something that I can easily control my nutrition.

Then back to work tomorrow morning - this week has FLOWN by.  Sigh.

are you going to the Melting POt in Warrington?? I've heard good things about the one in Philly. Oh and you can get broth to cook the goodies in too instead of oil if you want!

Enjoy! Sorry that your girls are leaving you again though :(

Yep - we went to the one in Warrington.  It was very good, actually, and surprisingly WLS friendly (if you can resist doing the cheese course and the chocolate course).  They had 4 types of broth plus an oil to choose 2 from. We went with the veggie broth (YUM) and the coq au vin (red wine) broth (also yummy).  The plates are your proteins and then they bring a wealth of uncooked veggies (mushrooms, broccoli, red potatoes) as well as a selection of dipping sauces ranging from the sweet (ginger plum) to the savory (yellow curry) and spicy (****tail sauce).  They have a vegetarian platter, too, which 2 of our party got.  Proteins are about 6 oz - 8 oz total, uncooked, and can be a single (filet, chicken) or a mixture.   I got the "Polynesian Platter" which was chicken, duck breast, beef, and shrimp.

I feel like I managed the meal well, resisted the non-WLS stuff, had cauliflower and 2 small pickles during the cheese course, skipped dessert.  We had a really nice time.

If you do go, be aware of 2 things - it's pricey (allow $40/person if having cheese and entrees or entree and dessert, yikes!) but worth it... and it takes a lot longer than a regular restaurant meal.  It was fun with a larger group like ours, because we had plenty of time to chatter and enjoy the company.  Everyone (even our notoriously fast eater) slowed down their eating, just because of the process.

Thanks Karen!! Good to know information.  I figured it was pricey so I'll have to find a special occasion and someone with a fatter wallet to take me!! :)
