....for the love I am able to give myself, and others

....for the amazing friends I have

...for my family...  who means the entire world to me...

...  for my husband...  who makes me who I am... and who makes me thankful I wake up every single morning beside him...

Beth,

Thanx for posting this.  I am grateful for:

              -  my decision to have this surgery 5 months ago

             -  my new and improved body and the many compliments I have received

            -  the hard work that I continue to do to get my head on straight

           -  a great therapist who has been a life saver for me

          -  my family and friends who have supported me through every step of this journey

          -  this message board that gives me hope and inspiration every day

         -  all the great people that I have met through the Barix support group and this board

         -  my God who continues to put people in my life at the time that I need them

         -  my spirituality - without it I would not be the woman that I am today

I hope that everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving.  Take care.

After more than 4 1/2 years since RNY I have  many thankful things to celebrate.

I'm appreciative of the love I've received for years from my family, friends, colleagues. They have always loved me regardless of the scale. They never saw the weight 1st. They saw me 1st and now it's as if " I was always this way." That is what they say and I believe them.

I'm appreciative of the love, friendship and support I've received from this community. The community that I am so proud to be a part of. A community I will never leave. A community I will never quit. A community that has celebrated wonderful times with me and helped to pull me back from some very dark days a few years ago. I will always remain very thankful for that and all those who played a role in my recovery. So many of you are still integral in my lfe today.

I'm appreciative of the health I've maintained and all those that help me maintain it. Physical health, emotional and spiritual health, whole health.

I'm appreciative of the many patients who have sought out support here and at Barix this year to help make our local support groups the best you can find anywhere. It's an ever growing group that can only get better in showing others the way to whole health.

I'm appreciative of the past, current (and future) support group leaders. People from our who group who have a burning desire to help us all, to selflessly share, who give freely of their time and more. Again and again and again.

This year has me the most thankful for finding someone, no, not just some one, the one. The one I never knew I would find, I didn't think I would ever find. It's amazing what can appear before you when you're not looking for it or when you've giving up on filling that part of your life. Who knew I could find the love of my life while doing what's become the passion of my life. Giving and receiving support in our wonderful community. Beth is the one, the one that I could not love more... but I keep trying.

As we all approach the Thanksgiving Day holiday, Beth and I approach our 11 months together and I am very thankful for her and her family.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BABE!

I love you I do,

Den

I am thankful for so many of the same things you all have mentioned...

- the amazing new community of "found family" that I've lucked into in this support group
- my newfound health and amazing energy
- newfound self esteem and confidence
- the joy of movement and exercise

- the support of my loving family
- the love of my furry kids

- the privilege of having choices
- having security - food, clothing, good medical care, a safe place to live, a job, the ability to help my girls achieve a college education

- the health of my husband and 2 wonderful girls

I am truly blessed.

Dr Pupkova and her and Barix's awesome staff members.
My husband who has stood behind me and Heather 100% when I made the choice to do this.
All the people who welcomed me when I walked thru Barix doors.
Each and every one of you.
All of my family members.
My two horses, 5 cats, three dogs and three birds.
And most of all being alive and the pleasure of knowing all of you.
Now I can grab a tissue.
