The Altoid Smalls are sugar-free and pack such a pungent taste of peppermint that you won't want anything else.  I have them around when I'm cooking.

This was definitely an issue for me, and since I cook dinner every night, it was becoming a big problem, especially since most times I chose to pick on unhealthy items.  Now I have cutup carrots and celery on hand.  I pull those out while I'm cooking dinner and munch on some of those rather than my usual crap.  I'd prefer not to do that either, so I might try the gum idea, but at least I wasn't taking in a lot of calories when I switched to veggies.  I also found that for me, it was the crunch I was looking for.  And, of course, this was after giving up my dinner prep ****tail(s) that I had been indulging in.

See, Mary, it could be a lot worse.  :-)

So glad you asked this question as this is my first Thanksgiving since my surgery and I am trying to figure out how I will get through it without grazing while cooking.

I really like the altoids idea.

Thanks!

I like Karen's idea the best but of course it doesn't help that I am a cashew addict either but Karen has my vote hands down.  Absolutely!
