Finally home
I am finally home, I actually got home late Thursday night. I was going to come home Wednesday and ended up sick so I the doc decided it was best for me to stay one more day. My experience I am sure was like most, my first thought waking in recovery was "what did i do" I asked he nurse to just shoot me. I was in so much pain and pressure i just wanted to die. The hospital was not the best, I have a major problem with laying there for 2 hours waiting for more morphine to be add to my pump, it was crazy, but all is well now and I am home. I am sore and tired, also finding it hard to drink anything but cranberry juice, I have protein supplement grape and lemonaide that I have made into ice cubes hopefully i will be able to get those in right now I just feel nausea all the time not bad but that lingering feeling.
Thank you to everyone for your well wishes.

Hi Patty!
Welcome home and welcome to the loser's bench! Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well, but you should start feeling better each day. And yeah, I was miserable when I woke up in recovery, just as you described. In fact, I had buyer's remorse for a few weeks, but that's gone now. Don't worry about getting all your fluids and proteins in just yet---it takes time to meet your goals. And yes, you'll be able to meet your goals. Concentrate on getting your fluids in so you don't get dehydrated. As time goes by, things other than cranberry juice will probably start to taste good to you again. (All I wanted was iced tea, but I'm starting to like other drinks again.)
For now, sip sip sip and walk walk walk.

Patty,
Sorry you were so sick. Hopefully it will get better for you soon. I just can't wait to have my surgery on Monday, and get on the losers bench. I told everyone to stay away as I already know that I will be miserable.( my daughter keeps telling me that This is elective surgery, and to remember that I asked for this) Take Care, have a quick recovery.

Welcome home!!
Peppermint tea (no milk) worked wonders for the post op nausea for me. Also, smelling an alcohol pad also worked on occassion as well.
Keep walking walking walking sipping and breathing and it will get easier, promise! It does, however, take time.
