Okay I`m gonna say something here and it`s free,so take for what it`s worth. How you project yourself both personality and body language will have a direct affect on the situation. I`ve been to support at sacred Heart Allentown, St Lukes in Allentown and at Palmerton Hosp and had a great time at all three. Weigh****chers Saturday class in Easton was the most fun I used to have all week. I go and I put myself out there. Due to my job I had to. been the only white guy at a restaurant in the Bronx or the only non-Hispanic at a bar in Reynosa Mexico.Even been the only long haired biker looking dude in a meeting of white shirt and tie clean shaven execs. It`s what you make it. Put yourself out there, smile say hello.

Hi Julie,
I am also very glad to see the growth in you you since these many wonderful people in our community have shown you the support you needed and deserved.  As Robin and I lead the group on Wednesday, we certainly would have stopped the hurt you experienced had we known about it.  Today YOU will begin to stop the hurt in future situations.   The leadership at Barix is discussing how to handle some of what you spoke of in the future.  As for the "side bar discussions", our recent by-law reading at the start of the meeting has helped some of the problem (as many of the posters have mentioned).  As I'm sure you noticed on Wednesday night, several times Robin and I routinely had to ask the attendees to stop non-group discussions and return to the main group topic.  We intend to continue to work on the issue and to ask for participants help in quelling the discussions.
As a part-time leader for the post-op meeting and the coordinator for the First Saturday meeting at Barix, I am pleased to find that you have decided to return for support.  Take charge, take ownership, take back your life.  If there is one facet to "successing", you have found it.  Begin the journey today as one, and tomorrow you will walk with a community.
