The emotional issues are normal.  Estrogen (a big component of being moody) is stored in fat - so as you are rapidly releasing fat, you are also rapidly releasing estrogen into your body.

As far as the irregularities go - it could be hormonal related.  But there could be underlying problems as well.  I would definatley write it all down...when you get it how long it lasts things like that.  And take it to your primary and/or your gyn and see what they say.

As far as the shopping goes - it is fun - and it can be frustrating because you shrink out of them so quickly.  I know you have apps out - but have you gotten any interviews set up?  I would seriously wait to buy ANYTHING until an interview is set up.  A basic pair of black pants is easy enough to find in stores and what not.  Also, check out goodwill and/or thrift stores in your area.  A lot of people have found really good things at places like those!

Enjoy!

Hi Nicki -

I get moody to and I'm certain that it's all hormone related.  Aunt Flo has been a little irregular as well.  I do track my cycle using www.mymonthlycycle.com , which really helps me know what is going on.  I'm finding that every month aunt flo arrives 3-4 days earlier than scheduled.  before surgery in June, it came at the end of the month.  Now it arrives around the 14th.  Weird.

As for clothing, I really suggest hitting your local thrift stores.  I got some great stuff for work including a suit for next to nothing.  I picked up dress pants for $3.00 each and a suit for $10.00.
The only things that I have had to purchase new are jeans, a winter coat and shoes.  I could have probably gotten jeans at the thrift store too, but I like a certain cut and I wasn't finding them at the thrift store.  A winter coat because my old ones looked horrible on me and shoes because my feet shrank from a 9 to an 8 1/2.

Couple Things to those whose Flos are all over the place.....If you are sexually active and don't want to get pregnant (and probably shouldn't for at least 12 mos. after RNY), make sure you are using 2 Forms of Birth Control.   Pregnancy just after RNY has increased chances due to hormonal fluctuations and malabsorption of your birth control pills!

Also, Nicki, why don't you post your size and see if someone might be able to help you out with career clothes; meet up with them or pick up the tab for mailing.   Often post-ops take them to local meetings and donate them to newbies as we're shrinking down sizes.
