A question for us oldies...

Hi Shilpa

I have had this repeatedly and just discussed with my Primary.  My sugar was a little low, but not too bad.  I had some more blood work done.  I sometimes have to eat a bowl of Protein Special K with banana or some other protein snack.  I sometimes get so shaky it makes me nervous.  Eating the protein does help.  I am not overly concerned, I just know that when I start to get that feeling I need to eat something.  I think my eating is just not as careful as it used to be so it causes the sugar levels to drop quickly.

you should have a snack around 9 p,m, a protein & carbohydrate I usually have 1 slice of cheese and 1 slice multi grain bread and I make a grilled cheese

Ditto to what everyone else has said.

For some reason, there seems to be an increasing link between RNY and people 18+ mos out with reactive hypoglycemia.  Can happen if you have had to many carbs without enough protein as well.

I think a snack before bed is an excellent idea, protein based.
