Lisa - you can do this!!! Just think - "back to basics" protein first, fruits and veggies next. If you need something to much on try celery sticks - they are crunchy and really nothing to them - the fiber should help to fill you up.

I like your Drs idea of going back to the recent post op diet.

We are all here to support you - you CAN do this!

oh and remember - just because the Dr gave you a goal doesn't mean that's where your body is going to be comfortable!! It will find it's own niche

Thanks Liz.. remember I told you he originally told me 115? well, when I was there 2 weeks ago, he told me he would like to see me lose about 20 more.  I told him I was thinking 40 and of course he had no problem with that.  Yesterday, he was talking about the last 20 or so pounds being the hardest.  So, I guess from looking at me, he can tell that 115 is just not realistic.  DUH.. LOL!!

I am hovering around 170 right now.  If I get to 140, I will be thrilled. That's 30, so that's between what he said and what I said.

The last is the hardest - it's been there the longest and is happy where it is. I am almost 3 years out and still 13 pounds from goal. They still come off in spurts. And I know if I was more dedicated that they would already be gone.

You can do this but it might take time!

Lisa,

I know you CAN and WILL get to your goal.....there's no doubt in my mind.  You're a determined person and have worked very hard to get where you are now.  You look TERRIFIC, so your hard work has paid off.

Lois turned me on to Max Protein and I'm getting my protein requirement in every day now thanks to her.  I know I'm still a newbie, but it has made a difference for me.  I try to stay away from things like rice cakes, protein bars, etc., as those things are not very healthy.  I'm eating more things like cottage cheese and fruit, chicken, lots of beans, some cheese.  Beans tend to keep you filled.  If you like Italian, I'm sharing a wonderful recipe from the Pouch Party I attended last weekend.  It's DELICIOUS!  Even my husband loved it.  Hopefully, this will satisfy your tastebuds and help keep you full.

Italian Three Bean Salad

1 can red kidney beans, drained
1 can black beans, drained
1 can cannelini beans, drained
1 small red onion, diced
About 6 string cheese sticks, sliced into discs
1 small cucumber, diced
1 small tomato, diced (I used grape tomatoes halved and quartered)
1 cup of Ken's Light Northern Italian Dressing
Salt and pepper to taste (I didn't need salt or pepper in mine)

Directions:  Combine all ingredients and mix well.  Let refrigerate for an hour.  Note:  It's best if left overnight and served the next day.

Note sure if she did or not but I would reccomend rinsing the beans before you add them - canned beans tend to have a starchy coating on them that is a funny texture - just my 2 cents :)

Thanks, Liz.  When I made mine, I put the beans in a collander and let them drain before adding them.  Next time, I'll be sure to rinse them off.  Thanks for the tip!

That's definatley going to be a challenge - but hopefully will steer you in the right direction.

I just have to wonder - is the hunger you are feeling "true" hunger or emotional head hunger and boredom?  Things to analyze.

Stay out of the kitchen!  easier said than done on some days - but you of all people can DEFINATELY do it.

Hang in there - I'm not gonna say it gets any easier per say - hell - on some days it's a heck of a lot HARDER than it was the beginning - but you'll get to where you need to be.

I am so sorry to hear that you are so frustrated right now. Hang in there. You are doing all the right things, as far as you realize that there is a problem, and you are taking active steps to fix the problem. I know you can do this!! Just look how far you have come already, you have changed your life and it is all for the better. (((Hugs))) being sent your way. Belinda
