I am saying goodbye to 100 lbs.  100 LBS  100 LBS 100 LBS!!! BYE BYE

I can't believe it is gone forever.  I was offical weighted in at the doctor's today for my six month follow up.  He was very happy and excited at the progress I am making.  He actually said that I was above average.  At my consultation he plotted me on the chart at 90 lbs at 6 months and I am 10 above that.  I am so excited.  And I am just loving the way my body is looking.  I haven't felt this much confidence in a long time.

A very good friend of mine said that he is noticing me walk around with my chin held higher.  I guess I didn't even I realized I did it.  But if people are noticing, then all I have to say is watch out world here I come!!!

Just a small up date. Thanks for all the support from everyone

Awesome, wonderful news.

BUT...

there is no such thing as forever. Strike that word from your WLS vocabulary right now.

Without vigilance and active participation in your health through good eating and physical activity, weight gain is a very real inevitability.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade AT ALL, but forever is a myth.

We live our new lives one day at a time.

Congratulations, Jennifer!!!  I have to agree with Norm---we must always be vigilant in our new lifestyle.  My doc summed it up so well when I approached him about WLS.  He said "it's a good start."  Perfect reminder for me that I always have to work at this.

I don't me to rain on your parade.  100 lbs down is absolutely awesome!!!!  Good job!!!

Jennifer,

Congratulations on seeing such wonderful results from your hard work.  As Norm says, though, success is an ongoing process and none of us can take for granted that the weight is "gone forever"... it's our continued process of successing that will make that a reality.

Savor every second of your excitement and your love for the way your body is looking.  Feels so much better than the "old days," doesn't it?  When you're having a rough patch, call up your memory of this feeling to reinforce yourself and re-dedicate to this process!

Hold that chin high and PROUD!!!

Thank you guys.  And Norm... I am very aware that I will have to work for the rest of my life to make sure that it is gone forever.  I am using my tool and going to work it so that I will always feel great about myself again and never slip into that old self image of myself that helped me get to be overweight again.    My tool is my friend and I am and will be very aware of this in the future.  And my new goal in my life is to definately make sure that 100 lbs is gone forever.  I still have about 50 - 70 lbs to go to be at a normal weight for my height.  So I am going to work off my butt literally.  LOL.

But thanks for the reminder.  I am very aware of that the tool we have been given is always going to be a work in progress.

I'd say that is a mighty big update Jennifer!  Congrats and may this part of "successing" be ongoing for the rest of your days!

Best wishes, Laureen
