My Turn to be bored - How about this... What does everyone do for a living???
Nicole,
Yeah, I'm not sure what she's going to end up doing either. She graduated from U of Chicago in 2007, and after that tried to get into a Ph.D. program. As you know, it's extremely difficult -- so, she's working on her MSW now, then will decide. I have a feeling she'll be going back to Chicago, though, she LOVED living there.

OMG I wish I had jumped on this thread earlier because after reading all of your posts about exciting and rewarding jobs I feel like a schmuck posting mine!!
My 'paying' job is working for General Electric Corporate Environmental Programs - I am the office administrator (aka Office Goddess) - we're a small group comprised of geologists and lawyers. Our job is to clean up toxic sites that we either created (unknowningly, of course) or bought over the years as we acquired other businesses. I have been a secretary/admin for 35 years (gulp) but had always worked in a finance or sales environment so this is a totally new type of work for me and it is very interesting - its also a small office (9 of us now and 5 of us are the same age) so there is no back-stabbing or b.s. involved, and that makes it a wonderful place to work. And sadly I never get to work from home, but 2 years ago our offices were totally renovated and updated and I was the only one who got new furnishings and they are quite lovely, so its not a bad gig at all.
Of course my 'non-paying' job is caregiver to my mother who has NSCLC and we're entering our 4th year of fighting that horrible disease - and of course taking care of hubby and my precious pooch.

Let's see...By day according to my business card I am a client account specialist for a small sign company. I pretty much do all the inside sales and service. It is a small shop me, production guy and designer and the boss. Well boss does half my job for me and I am already bored. I don't like it and fill very unfilled most days.
In a prior life I did insurance customer service along with sales. I was burned out so I left that and now thinking maybe about going back if the right thing was on hand.
Weekend I do private event DJing nad have for the last six years as one of the house DJ's for a local catering hall and even that has lost its appeal for me because rather spend my weekends home with Dennis. It is good extra money when I do it though so I don't count on it to live at all to me it is all bonus money at this point.
I am thinking of going back to school but for what??? or even career change any thoughts???
