***Wednesday Roll Call***
Morning!
I am home four hours early tonight thanks to over staffing and under patienting for once. Wow...it's been a LONG time since that has happened. Actually - throughout the course of the evening, FIVE nurses were sent home. Couldn't have come at a better night for me...first night back = being tired anyway, not to mention...I'm just crabby due to my "friend" so going home to tylenol, motrin (pepcid), and a heating pad sounded FABULOUS to me.
Anyway...probably will be going to bed within the next hour or so once I wind down and of course check in on FB and undoubtedly play a few rounds of bejewled blitz.
Then...I doubt I will sleep all the way till 5p...so I'll get up and spend some time with Brian. We had attempted to watch an episode of BSG but I felt so crummy I couldn't get through it. Perhaps we will finish that.
Then it's back to work tonight, 7p-7a
Enjoy!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

Good morning, PA!
Pam---I hope you're feeling better!
I'll be at work from 7:30-4:00 today. Then it's home for a walk, dinner, and who knows what else. Guess I'll do a load of wash tonight too. (I don't have too many pairs of pants that fit, so I just keep doing laundry and wearing them again.)
Time to go feed the kitty cats---they're pacing around and staring at me.
Have a great day, everyone!

Good Morning All,
Pam hope your "friend" easies up on you. (I don't miss those days at all) Today is a busy one for me. After final appointment with the surgeon, they decided that I needed to see the cardio Dr one last time before surgery, which I was planning on doing anyway, but they had a different twist to it. They want me to see the original one I had as he is affiliated with the hospital where I will be having my surgery, just in case. I really like my own Dr, but will comply. So today I am off to a 6:30 am ultrasound for my gallbladder, which I am lucky enough to be having removed at the same time. After that up the road a little for blood work for my pcp, for the last visit with her before the surgery, and additional blood work because of all the nosebleeds I have been having.
(6 in 8 days, with a total of 8 altogether) I know that all of the blood work is important, so off I go. Then down the road a little further to get my cpap adjusted and a new mask. From there off to the pats at Abington. I am sure there will be a nap in the afternoon, as I was so afraid that I would not wake up that I have been awake since 2:45 am. (yes Pam my daughter prays for the nites when they either call her off or send her home, which does not happen often, since hers is a small hospital, and more times than not, they are waiting in the ER for a room, or lined up in the halls waiting for a bed) Have a good day all.

Paula,
Support group leaders need support, if you are always giving of yourself, that leads to that being empty kind of feeling. So I am hoping that you attend some support group function as an attendee, as it is very important to get, as well as to give. . . which is not to say that there is no receiving in the giving, it's just that some of us tend to give all and then wind up feeling "empty". Just something I learned a long time ago via being in a 12 Step recovery program, where I was involved in lots of service on the group, area level as well as sponsoring about 8 women at one time, my wonderful sponsor told me I had taken on too much and needed to cut back on all I was doing. I did not like hearing it, but when I digested it, I realized she was right and I cut back on some of what I did.
Hugs, Laureen

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

HAPPY VETERANS DAY to all those that have served - your service has kept us safe and free. Thank a Vet today and tell them you love them. My father was in Vietnam in the Marines and is now considered 90% disabled due to injuries and consequences of events he endured there. He has shrapnel in his knees, diabetes as a result of Agent ORange exposure and a few others. I also have several cousins who have served several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Lets also take an extra moment today to remember the families affected by the tragedy at Ft Hood last week.
OK off my soap box. Today I am at wor****il 2 then off to the OB for my 12-13 week check-up and a consultation because I am 99% sure I was exposed to H1N1 by an idiot at work. I have to run into the grocery store for a few things then home to rest. and accomplish a few small things.
So glad that you got sent home Pam - that's always a great feeling!!

morning all..
working til 3:30.. tried to get up to work at 5, but it just wasn't happening today.
After work, I'll go to the gym and then pick Siehara up from choir at 5.
Then, home to make salmon for dinner and relax for the rest of the night. OR maybe I'll do the OT tonight.. depending on my mood, energy level and what Siehara is up to.
