Is wondering...
If YOU are unpresentable, then they are Trolls under the bridge.
Sounds to me like your dad is just a negative person. And I am only saying this from the post you made today, and other posts you've made about your interactions with him.
My opinion is, it's high time you stop listening to your dad's opinions, and follow your own mind and heart. Times are tough.....PERIOD. Teaching isn't exempt from the economy issues. Hang in there, have confidence and be a positive person in your interviews!
Sorry you are having such a tough time, and hope you find something soon!
When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
I checked out your profile pics. You look more than appropriate in all of them. In my opinion, people who are unpresentable have no sense when it comes to choosing an outfit to fit the occasion.
Does your father even have an idea of what you wear to your interviews? Or is he just seeing you in "hanging out" gear. That's all my father ever sees me in. Jeans and sweatshirts. Obviously not appropriate for the office. I wear dress pants, sweaters, suits, etc. My Dad might not even recognize me if he saw me in one of my business suits...haha
Other than wearing the appropriate clothing, the only other thing that I could see as unpresentable would be showing too much skin. Clearly a bad idea for any interview.
This sounds a lot like a dig to your self-esteem. Don't let anyone do that to you.

Was he referring to now or in the past? Your father has made derogitory statements to you regarding your PAST looks....
And if he thinks you are unpresentable now, Jen, I hate to say this **** 'em. There's only so much abuse one can put up with (and NOOOOO abuse that anyone should HAVE to take) and statements like that ARE abuse.
Anyway - in regards to your actual question. I would find someone who is "unpresentable" to not have combed hair, brushed teeth, perhaps a stain on a shirt or a shirt that had obviously been under a pile of clothes and was wrinkled beyond recognition. This, is of course, assuming you are going out in public. IMO there is no "to unpresentable" if you are hanging out at home. Oh - and this might be a bit over the edge - but for men (who don't have a full beard) I find anything more than a day or two of growth just yucky. Brian will tell you how much I complain about that one. Same thing goes for women who are wearing skirts...shave the legs ladies....
I don't necessarily think things like lack of makeup, jewlery, or accessories of other kinds make one less presentable...although they do add that special touch and personally I feel uncomfortable without my foundation and blush on.

Not knowing your Father but he may simply be commenting on your provacative clothing selection....I mean, did you really have to wear the fishnet stockings and v-cut spandex top to the interview for the elementary school teacher role ;) ?? BTW, can you send me the picture of you in the fishnet stockings and spandex ;0
