So put those boots on...you deserve them! (Another head game...asking ourselfes, "Do I deserve to wear boots with heels? Do I deserve to wear tall boots? Will total strangers tell me that formerly fat calves can't wear tall boots? And on it goes...for me it's the question of whether I deserve to wear colors other than black.)

Thank you so much... and you are so right on the money about the dialogue.  Something about boots - they represent "sexiness" and stylishness to me and the "do i deserve" dialogues that go with them are just ridiculous.  That's part of why i'm trying to force myself to just do it... work past it and face it head on.  I keep hearing the phrases (said derogatorily, of course)  "OMG are you trying to look SEXY? HAHA" and "who do you think you are to wear something like that?"

I completely understand about the interior dialouge that goes with certain clothes, shoes, activities, etc. It is really amazing what our minds can do to us. But I have to tell you from your pics and posts that you are one sexy looking incredible woman. Be proud of your accomplishments, and show off those sexy boots you do doeserve it.

Karen, this thread has made me reflect on my personal "nut case dialogues" about wearing colors.

One line goes like this: "If you wear a pink sweater, you will absolutely look like an Easter egg."

Another one: "Everyone will point and laugh if you wear a blue suit instead of a black one."

Or: Ditto the Easter egg comment, only this time about a deep purple dress.

Or: Ditto the "point and laugh" comment about any dress at all.

Aren't we something!  Today I stopped in at a good consignment store en route home from a meeting in Harrisburg. I found myself in the plus sizes and had to consciously pull away - NOTHING THERE FITS. I'm actually buying some smaller sizes than I need right now so I have them...I'm at the end of my own range of sizes in the closet.

Anyway, I'm off to the gym shortly, in my all black exercise clothes...

Okay first of all congratulation on the huge wow moment. Secondly talking to the shoe queen here what's a good deal on the boots at DSW are we talking about $50 or less here?  Do tell as I need me more tall boots. I am loving the boots with dresses and skirts in the winter time. NEVER thought you hear me say that. BTW you look terrific but I know what you mean about sub-commitees as I am the queen of that as well.
