Quick reminder

Hey all!

Just a quick reminder  - not everyone on my FB account knows I had surgery.  I have a lot of you guys as friends, obviously, and like it that way!

Obviously those who don't know about my surgery DO know that I have lost a tremendous amount of weight, lead an active lifestyle, choose healthy foods...yadda yadda yadda.

If it's not to much trouble, could ppl try to keep in mind not to mention the word "surgery" or any other WLS word in responding to my posts ABOUT me.

I understand trying to "subcommittee" this is difficult and understand slip ups and what not - so please don't be offended if I delete a comment of yours under one of my posts.

I hope I'm not offending anyone!  I know it was my decision to not tell everyone about my surgery and also my decision to bring my two worlds together on FB.....

I agree with you, Pam.  I don't usually mind telling people that I had surgery, but I haven't told everyone.   Some of my coworkers are friends on my FB account, and I chose not to tell them anything after one said "you have to be awfully lazy to let yourself get to the point where you need surgery."  Given that attitude, I felt it best not to tell them and have to defend my decision.

BTW, the coworker that made that comment got another job in August.  I saw her last week for the first time in 3 months, and she kept saying "oh my God!  You're so skinny!"  Got a lot of satisfaction from that, knowing how hard I've been working.

I feel the same way Pam and I know a lot of others who do too :)  Not everyone knows...especially at work and I would like to keep it that way.  So far it hasnt been an issue, but if it does become one, then I will have to "split" my two worlds....or just start banishing people from my kingdom LOL  I tend to stay away from any post that mentions Barix, OH, support groups, etc....even though it might be someone elses post and not mine....because I am finding out how small the world is as some of my friends are friend with each other (mutual friends thing), even though I didn't know they knew each other.  Kind of like the 6 degrees of kevin bacon thing.

Everyone has the right to handle their surgery information in any way they please...so don't ever worry about offending anyone.  And if you do offend someone, they will get over it ....or not...but its not your problem LOL

I'm the same way.  It's not that I'm ashamed, but I got tired of the comments and arguments when I started telling people, so it's easier not to mention  it.
