Super Saturday Roll Call
Good Morning All! I am up far too early.... Chris alarm went off this morning and scared the living daylights outta me! I didn't know he had to work today... oh well. So now I have no idea what is going on today. Was debating a trip to super walmart, I should put away the halloween decorations. I told Chris we can put up the outside Christmas lights tomorrow since it is supposed to be so nice out - I hate doing it when it is 20 degrees.
I woke up with a killer headache so at the moment I am waiting for the tylenol to kick in then I'll get up and do something productive I suppose...
What are you all up to on this lovely Saturday?
OH and shameless plug - if anyone is in the Quakertown / Richlandtown area looking for something to do today - My Mom and God Daughter are at Benner Hall http://www.bennerhall.com/craft.html for a craft show selling her goodies - stuffed dolls - Santa's, Angels, Ghosts, Witches, Christmas Trees, Photo Note Cards, Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls, and lots of other cool stuff! Her name is Toni and her business name is "Cookie Doll"

I hope Toni and your God Daughter do well at the craft show! I won't be in the area - sounds like fun though!
Well the VERY first thing I did when I woke up was to turn on the freaking heat. We've been leaving it off and just wearing our sweats and what not. There have been mornings that we turned it on just to get the "chill" outta the air. And when I saw the thermostat read a balmy 57 degrees IN MY HOUSE I turned it right on. 57 inside 24 outside. Hmmm. Yuck.
Anyway...I too laid in bed once up at an ungodly hour. Don't know why I was up at 5:50 but I was. Didn't get out of bed until almost 7. Had two kitties purring and rubbing against me so it was nice :)
Gonna run a few quick errands. Yesterday = pay day! Yay! Today = bill day :( Hiss! LOL
Then it'll be home to putz around and wait for 5pm to roll around when we are picking up my friends little girl to babysit her for the evening.
Should be an interesting experience. She is 2 1/2 and has never met us (they didn't have time to come over yesterday) She is going to be up VERY early today for everyone including her to get ready for the wedding then she is gonna be IN the wedding as a flower girl and then Brian and I are gonna go and, for lack of a better term, take her away from her mommy and daddy in a strange car to a strange house when she is undoubtedly over tired, irritable, and hungry. Some how, I don't think this will push Brian over the edge to really want a kid, LOL
And that's how I will spend the evening - trying to make a little girl happy :)

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

Unfortunately the whole reason I am babysitting her and "taking" her is because the reception is at the bank street annex - which is on North Hampton Street right by the Crayola factory. She will only be in my car for 10 mins tops. If she DOES fall asleep in the car - it will only be enough to make her more pissy :)
Her mom is sending her with some of her fav dvd's and we have all the pixar movies here - including the new ice age one which I have yet to see. I'm hoping to convince her that she wants to watch that - so that I can, too, LOL Her mom is thinking she will be ok - and if not that her DVDs will subdue her. I also have sugar cookies in the freezer and the makings for icing - so I'm thinking to see if she wants to decorate some cookies to take home to keep her busy. I know she helps her mom with baking quite frequently!

Liz, My Riley is almost always an Angel, but when she is pissy, there is NO reasoning with her! Ever hear of the terrible twos.
Anyways, Pam, heving her docorate cookies a a great idea. Riley loves to decorate goodies and put icing on cupcakes, etc. She gets so proud of herself. also, trying to talk a 2 year old into watching a movie YOU want, can be trying. I have found it's just easier to let Riley pick it, they get stuck on the same thing for awhile. It may be more comforting for her to watch something she is used to, rather than be with strangers AND have to watch a strange movie.
Just trying to help, since I have a 2 1/2 yo little girl. Have fun!

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
Thanks, Jo! Of course I didn't read the post until AFTER I dropped her off, LOL
I walked into the reception (in my jeans and sweats to a black tie affair - lemme tell you - talk about feeling out of place!) and her mother said to her "Eliza, this is Pam" and before she could finish her sentence the little girl was in my arms giving me hugs and kisses!
Came to my house...got her out of her dress....made dinner....and then when we were cleaning up she saw our movie rack and decided to help herself....to Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs and said "oh - we watch THIS one NOW" LOL I guess her and Brian were on the same page!
Watched the movie....by then it was about 8:30 and she was acting a bit tired so I didn't break out the cookies etc...and her grandmother called about 9 to say she was ready for her!
Oh - and we must have answered the question "Why" and "What are you doing" about ten million times in 3 1/2 hours! Definately not used to that! But it was cute!

Good morning, PA!
Liz---I hope your headache goes away soon! Would an ice pack help it? Yeah, I know---ice pack on a cold morning is a horrible thought! But Paul and I find it really helps.
Pam---Good luck with babysitting! Can't say I envy you! Maybe you can get her involved in something, like coloring or making something like pudding?
I too woke up really early today, around 5:30. Ugh. But I have a lot of errands to do today, so I can get out early and come home to take a nap. Or at least I hope to take a nap. I always say I'm going to do that but then never do. No wonder I'm always tired!
Have a great day everyone!!!

morning..I am running a little later than normal for me for a Saturday, but decided I should get to dawdle a bit sometimes too. We are usually getting ready to leave for synagogue about now. I am showered and have my dress picked out, but still have to do my hair and makeup. So, we will get there a little later than normal. Oh well.
After services, we will go the grocery store to pick up a few things and Siehara wants to look at a coat she saw in either JCPenney or Bon Ton's ad, so I guess we will do Bon Ton first since it is right near the synagogue. I told her I can't buy it until at least Friday but she can look.
This afternoon, I am lounging. Then, Siehara and a friend of hers are going ice skating with a group from school and one of the other synagogues. I will probably drop them off and hang out with a friend of mine who lives near the rink. Then, I will pick up the girls and her friend is sleeping over. So, I will probably be up on the computer and watching TV until they are settled in Siehara's room for the night.
