OT-My shoulder

Went to the Rothman Insitute today and yep shoulder surgery again!  They found a tear and a "chunk" of scar tissue in my MRI.  So I go in Nov 19th and will be in Jefferson for at least one day if not two then PT for 4-5 days a week for the first three weeks and they are sending a cpm machine home with me it will keep my shoulder moving so it doesn't stiffen up again .  Not looking forward to it but if I don't do it I will lose use of my shoulder and pain will get worst.  Needless to say I was a mess after I left. I kept my composure til I got out into my truck and let loose.  Then I went to the stables and saw my santuary Cassidy and cried.  After getting it out of my system I was grateful for Cassidy for letting me cry on his shoulders and standing still. I know I should be grateful for all the good things I have and I am its just this is my third surgery on my left shoulder in less than one year so I am trying to stay upbeat.  On a good note at least its winter and I won't miss much riding. When I hear of what others are going thru I am grateful for what I do have. Once again and I am grateful for all of you.

I am so sorry for what you are again facing for the 3rd time. Sometimes life is a b..ch isn't it? I'm glad you had your horse to cry with. Animals can be so sympathetic. I know how grateful I am for mine. I hope your surgery goes well. Spring wil be hear before we both know it and I hope we will both be doing well.

Linda,

So sorry to hear that another surgery is in the works.  You truly must be getting so tired and frustrated  by this!  BUT... your attitude is wonderful and keep the feeling of gratitude and perspective.  That will help you heal more quickly and get you "back in the saddle" in no time.

Maybe you can find a PT who has worked specifically with riders and who can work therapy into your riding and/or riding and horse care into your therapy!

Hugs
Karen

Thanks Karen I am frustrated by this being the 3rd time in less than one year but none of this is "horse related" but you have a great point I will discuss this with my PT utalizing my riding with my recovery the only positive thing I have going for me is that its winter and I won't really miss alot of riding as I hate the cold and the funny thing is Cassidy has and so does my other horse Tiki full bodied horse blankets with flannel lining. But you did give me a great idea for PT thanks again.

Linda,

We're all allowed a moment to totally lose it and cry our hearts and souls out - to anyone, no one, or a special animal like Cassidy.

Hopefully the CPM machine will do wonders for you - it helped my grandmother with her knee replacements wonderfully!

Oh - and Nov 19 is a lucky day - it is my husband and I's anniversary - so it will go PERFECTLY for you.  Only good things can happen on that day.  I say so!

Oh Pam that is a sign that things will go well if its your and Brian's anniversay.  Thanks I needed that.  Yep Cassidy I tell people he's my heart and he really seems to understand me.  We are so tuned into each other.  I heard the CPM machine is big?  Thanks for the say so I have faith in what you do say.
