This is perfect for a lazy football sunday meal!  We served it on light hamburger rolls.. and it was PERFECT!  you could also wrap it up in lettuce for a low carb meal...

•3 lbs ground Turkey, browned, and drained
•1 onion, finely chopped
•1 green pepper, finely chopped
•16 oz tomato sauce
•3/4 c ketcup
•1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
•1 tsp chili powder
•1/4 tsp pepper
•To Taste.... minced garlic
1/2 c. splenda brown sugar blend

After you brown the turkey and drain it..   throw everything into the crock pot, and let cook for 8-10 hours on low...  or 4-6 hours on high.  the longer it cooks, the better it tastes!

Just as an FYI for those who are super sensitive to sugar....the brown sugar blend by splenda is half sugar, half splenda.  It def cuts down on calries/sugar content but it is still there.

You might be able to sub diabeti sweet - but I find that has a potential aftertaste.  Although in this quantity, I might be able to see it used well!

Thanks Pam,   I didn't even realize I had put sugar free... and not low sugar!

Some brands of ketchup also contain sugar.

But this is still a wonderful lower sugar option.  And. lower fats too as you use turkey!

great recipe! Also remember the high fructose corn syrup in the ketchup.

And if you get worried about too much bread products. This is what I do.......

Low carb bread, then pile on the Sloppy Joe and top with cheddar cheese. You still have the bread there, but avoid eating the top and bottom of the bun. And you just eat like an open faced sandwich. Yummo!

I make mine close to this but use 1/2 cp of regular splenda. Never thought to use the brown sugar stuff. Sounds good!

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

I make a sloppy Joe with turkey burger, reduced sugar ketchup and french's mustard.  salt pepper, and garlic powder.  brown your meat with chopped onion,  (you can add green pepper if you like then I dump the ketchup and mustard in to suit your taste.  Very easy, very good. Everyone seems to love it.
