lehigh valley hospital

Thanks everyone, I was at a support group at LHVS last night. I mentioned this website. Hopefully we can really get some support going for those of us who need it. I am hoping to have surgery in January. It is nice to know there is a community of well wishers and people who have been in the same boat to help with any questions.

I did not have surgery at LVH but I do work in the ED there.

I came from a very small community hospital and was utterly blown away by LVH.  Their staff, technology, patient satisification scores and what not are just unbelievable.  I've been there a year now, and it still blows my mind what they can accomplish there.

Im close to Lehigh Valley girl too. Live in Pottstown right now, about 45 minutes from allentown. Had my surgery with Dr. Sawyna over 5.5 years ago now at Sacred Heart.

I have not had any personal experience with LVH, but have heard nothing but good things from others! Good Luck :)

Sawyna's my guy!!! He's actually at Westfield Hospital now.. chief of surgery there.  It's a new hospital out Tilghman ST.. been there a little over a year

 Yep i know all about it! I went back for my 5 year appt this past winter and he told me all about it!
I was also at an independent support for a while that he was speaking at right as he was leaving SHH.

I had surgery at LVH in September...live in NW NJ but I am SOOO happy I went west instead of east.  I went to Dr. Rovito...Just loved him.   I am 6 weeks out but Dr. Rovito and his office staff are just the best.  I worked in a hospital for 10 years (not LHV) and i was thrilled with the care.  Had Lap RNY and was in the OR at 10 am and discharged following the swallow test at 8 am.  All the paperwork was very smooth and I was out by 11 am the next day.   The support meetings are at a time when I work, so I began attending ones at Easton Hospital on Sat am.  Very nice group there if you are looking.  Good Luck!

Thank you very much.  I am actually coming from up north about 50 miles so I will have to look for support groups closer to home for the most part. I am concerned about the Hospital and everyone has been so helpful. Glad to hear about quick discharge,that usually puts a damper  on getting home!  -Lynn
