Anyone in Pittsburgh want a WLS buddy?
I have my mom for support - she had WLS last year, so she is a great help. But I would like to find more support if I can. Because of my other health issues (mainly chronic fatigue syndrome that keeps me home most of the time), I am lacking in the friend department.
It looks like my surgery will happen before the end of next month (not bad - from initial surgical consult to surgery date will be about 2 months). Honestly, i'd be happy if I had a good excuse to skip Thanksgiving food this year... food for me is torture. My stomach right now is turning around and well.. emptying constantly.
I'm hoping to find someone who will go through the surgery around the same time. If not, perhaps someone to start exercising with after surgery and recovery. My recovery will be more difficult and longer, so I might need more time to get on my feet. I was told I will *have* to take up walking a mile 4-5 days a week within 4 weeks post-op in order to avoid major muscle loss. The hope is once I lose some weight, my fatigue and pain will subside enough to let me to do more than just walking.
Anyone in the area and interested?
