I take my calcium in seperate doses also. Doc says I will absorb more. I don't know if it's true, but that's how I do it.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

Looks like you've gotten some good advice so far.  The only thing I'd add is to please be mindful of any other meds you're taking and if they need to be scheduled around your vitamins.  I say this because I take Synthroid (for hypothyroid) and I'm shocked at how many people don't know that you can't take it at the same time as calcium.  It makes scheduling my vitamins interesting, but I manage.

I also separate out my calcium like you do, and the magnesium supplments have helped me very much!

Fortunately, as a result of WLS, I am off my blood pressure meds.  Woo Hoo !

The only other Rx that I take is Rx pepcid, which was given to me after surgery.  I thought I read something about being on that for 6 months.  If that is the case, I should get the go ahead from Dr. P to discontinue at my check in January.

Nice! Congrats on going off your BP meds!  I was able to give up a few meds too and I love the money I'm saving not having to pay for them!
