a WOW moment, I guess

Ok, this one is a bit weird for me......

I joined a walking group, and it has since splintered off.  One woman asked if I would go walking with her, and I agreed. We've become friendly, and she tells me about the guy she's interested in, or the jerk's she is dating etc. But it's like a relationship with my sister.

Well.......

People in my office are now speculating that we are sleeping together.  I get asked about our walking, etc. I find it amusing...

And the WOW comes because if I was still 365 lbs, no one would think anything of it.....

So I guess that qualifies as a WOW moment, even if it's not the most flattering....

I am...but I have to say, I enjoy the drama....I mean there is no way anyone would suggest we were sleeping together when I was 365 lbs....

So, it's a wow moment,......

Sounds a lot less like a sharing a wow moment and a lot more like bragging on the internet that people think you sleeping with a coworker.

You say potato........

Just kidding. It is what it is. It only dawned on me a day or two ago.

It would be bragging if we were actually doing something!

Just be careful - relationships can begin to grow where you least expect it, especially if you're being a 'good listener and shoulder' for her - her affections could very easily be transferred to you. Its good to be a friend, but I ended up marrying a guy I couldn't stand when I first met him, went on to become friends because I was a 'good listener and shoulder' and then .... well, our 20th anniversary is next month.

I understand what you are saying. People do think about you and treat you differently since you aren't "that big" anymore. I have been noticing it with people I know too. No one is questioning my loyalty to my spouse but there are some differences. Just be careful. I try never to put myself in a "gray" area. For example being alone with another man no matter how inocent the situation gives people room to talk and who needs the gossip flying. I am glad that you are feeling good about yourself. Congratulations.
