to all of my oh/wls family,
I can not begin to tell all of you how much your support has meant to me these past few harrowing weeks. To bring everyone up to speed: I have elected to have a double mastectomy followed by immediate initial tissue expansion prothesis placement. This will take place on Tued., Oct. 27th at Montgomery hospital. Dr. Bruce Weiner is my breast surgeon, Dr. Robert Mirabile is my plastic surgeon. I have great confidence in their skill and know that they both have excellent reputations in their given fields. I won't know if I will need chemo until after the surgery, as my lymph nodes must be biopsied to determine if the cancer has spread. I am expecting to face apx. 5 weeks of radiation therapy after I have healed from the surgery. I expect to be in the hospital overnight, then spend the week recovering at my sister's home in Worcester. I thank everyone for their expressions of concern, well wishes and prayers. I will have access to a computer at my sisters, so I will be able to be reached via email.  [email protected]. I will be thinking of everyonenad wish everyone ongoing success with their weight loss/health goals.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

Chris,

It soudns like you're working with some great professionals and have a good, conservative, and well-thought-out plan.  My thoughts and prayers will be going out to you in the coming weeks.  It's great that you will have computer access during your recovery, as the ongoing support network will be so important to you in a lot of ways throughout your recovery.

All the best!
