Applebee's COMPLAINT!!

Why judge an entire company by a few bad apples. I`ve never had a problem there and either order off the kids menu or ask for a take out box before I even get my meal. I can usually get a weeks worth of lunch from an adult entrée.
I would pick up the phone and call corporate.
I love Texas Roadhouse but had a customer service issue at the Easton one. The problem is every where. Customer service has been a thing of the past for years. Pretty bad when Walmart is probably the leader in customer service and being accommodating. Guess that explains their growth.

It sounds to me that most of the problem you had was customer service oriented and could have and has happened at many other places. I think your should contact that particular restaurants high test management and complain. The fact that they wouldn't let you order off the kids menu is IMHO customer service as well. Most of the time I find it more to order a regular meal and bring home the rest for another meal. Kids menu usually have drink and desert included in the price so it doesn't pay to order it for myself. Even though I am pre op I try to limit my portion size. I don't think you are wrong to feel angry or to complain. I do however think it is less applebee's fault then the staff at that particular restaurant. The applebee's near me in Ephrata PA has good service and I never had a problem with the staff there.I hope you get some satisfaction from Applebee's though. They should at least apologize and take action for the poor service you received. the restaurant business is all about customer service and as a service industry they should take complaints seriously as word of mouth is their best form of advertisement.

We've also had great luck with the Applebees in Ephrata.

Their manager hires great servers. We order the Cajun Lime Talapia and share - Mike gets a salad or soup to round out his meal after I've taken my portion. No issues there at all.

(Besides that, we sometimes end up eating late...and in Lancaster County they really do roll up the sidewalks - a lot of things close at 8  p.m. so it's nice that Applebees is open later!)

I have gone to the Applebees in Wyomissing on many occasions.
They have grilled skewered shrimp as an add on.  I have been able to order that  for 5.99,  No problem there.  You can have it grilled dry.  Very tasty seasoned nice.
They have been very good about it.  I have never asked to use the weight loss card there.
With the receipt there is a a web address to rate there service.
I have used pick up at lunch and had an order messed up1 time.  They replaced the order and delivered to my work, along with a gift card for the inconvenience.  They have gone out of there way to keep people happy.

The one on 5th street is horrible.

Sorry you had a bad experience.

Just an FYI    IHOP will let you order off the kids menu IF you show them your card.

It is in my top 2 fav places to eat now.  I love that the kids menu says "for kids of all ages"  I was "scolded" the other night for asking for a box.  "You could not finish a kids meal??!!"  the server said.  We laughed!  The grilled chicken is really good!  Love the marinade.  I was told it was honey Italian marinade, which worried me, but it did not bother me.  Then I have usually the veggie of the day with it.  And the salads are yummy and huge too.  Will last about 4 sittings.  And yes...I Never leave without picking up something in the store!  :)

First of all when I overheard someone make a comment about someone I would have opened my mouth and asked for a manager and addressed it right then and there and then asked for corp. headquarter's info and reported the person who made the unkind comment and the manager's name. I would have notified the corp. by e-mail and called and asked for a letter receipting my complaint. To the person who asked me if I had a "small" appetite today I would have looked at her after hearing the unkind comments and said to her none of your business. But I am a very outspoken person. And I agree that restuarants do not have to accept the cards we have stating we had this surgery because it is our choice to have had the surgery and we really can't expect others to reconize it.  And the second the bread would have appeared I would have said to the server Take it back and annoyed about a dirty fork?  I would have asked her if she would have used it for herself. I have been told that we have the right to ask what is in our foods that we are being served not the recipe mind you but the ingredients that is the law due to dietitary needs and food allergies so anyone has the right to ask that for those reasons.  Now mind you I am not asking how you make a certain meal but what is it made with is the actual question. And the best way to pay the place back is just what you did which is let other people know about your unpleasant experience . Its a shame places like those don't listen to what the patron suggests after all if it wasn't for us they would have no business. No business= no money and no money=going out of business and going out of business=losing jobs and losing jobs=no money. Oh well!

My daughter had a horrific experience at an Applebee's in Michigan.  She and her husband were eating out, and he ordered some Buffalo Chicken Strips, and after tasting them, realized they were raw inside.  The manager gave them gift cards, but they will not return.

The card does not entitle us to anything.  I have never used it myself.  I just order something from the regular menu and take home the remainder.

As for rude personnel, I ask to speak to the manager on duty and tell him flat out what the behavior was, and that he is losing a customer as a result of that staff member's ignorance.  If his attitude sucks also, then I write a snail mail letter to the corporate headquarters, addressed to the CEO, not the customer service.

Good luck.

Trish

Worth a second chance.

Oh yes... I am planning on calling my Applebees up here and explaining my situation of being on bed rest and finding out if because of the cir****tance they can give my meal to my my brother and others in my unit and his, who will be dining in.

If not, I will probably head up for dinner, but I am trying to avoid things like that even though doc said I can get out once in a while.
