Yes it's a good idea!
I like the idea of having it at the Barix facility. People like me who came some distance to Barix (2 hours) would probably not want to navigate their way to a local church hall unless it was required. Also, you would not have to deal with facility rental issues and the like.
Above all, don't have it at a gym - talk about negative associations!
I also think that an orientation to the benefits of exercise in terms of (1) readiness for surgery, (2) better recovery, and (3) psychological benefits would be helpful, maybe with a short presentation by a psychologist or nurse. Exercise is one of the huge hurdles that we have to overcome - it's so fraught with failure and fear.
