Collagen Cream?

Does anyone use this on their arms, neck, whataver?  My PCP always gives me the "try not to fail" lecture (insert eye roll) when I see him and I showed him my arms.  The inside of the bottom, below my elbows, is already wrinkling.  He told me to use collagen cream to try to help tighten them  up.  I asked him if he thought that really works...he was not sure but thought it was worth a shot.  Does anyone use this?  And what good cream do you use for chicken neck??

Nope dont waste your money. Collagen molecules are way to large for your skin to absorb. It does make the skin soft but cant penetrate the skin in order to get to the fibers that need firming. Most creams are not very effective in penetrating the dermis, and most dont have ingredients that can penetrate the dermis. It's  effective when injected but that doesn't last very long. Collagen is easily absorbed into the body and whisked away once it is injected. I hate to say it but there isn't much you can do for wrinkling of the body except plastics later. You skin has been stretched and there isn't much you can do about it. Creams will make things soft and hydrated but not much else. Sorry! Same goes for most face creams. Wrinkles are one thing, Retin-A is great for that but firmness is almost imposable. I really wish there was a cream that would fix chicken neck ( I could sell the heck out it if there was really one that worked). There is always Thermage or laser. But they are considered cosmetic and require a plastic surgeon or dermatologist. I would probably suggest a good moisturizer and wait until you get to gole save you money and look into thermage. If this helps any I'm an esthetician that works for a dermatologist and if you have any other skin questions please let me know. Hope this helped.

I'm with Julie - don't waste your money on useless creams - save it for plastics down the road if the loose skin really bothers you. I have turkey neck big time and bought into the Strivectin ads that this was the 'miracle cure' for turkey neck, and I bought one of their eye creams. $125 for the turkey neck stuff - $75 or more for the eye cream. Went thru the turkey neck cream in a heartbeat and still had turkey neck - I will say the eye cream has lasted a long time but its probably no better than Oil of Olay or some other less expensive brands.

I do use cream around my eyes and on my neck - doubt it helps but mentally it makes me feel better. Stretched skin is stretched skin - sadly not much other than plastics will help.

Ohh that stinks that you bought Strivectin. It is soooo expensive and it does nothing. The Oil of olay regenerist products are OK. They help a little but wont do as much as we hope. My favorite stuff is Cerave cream, you can get it at CVS and it cheep like under 10.00. I do do sell  the SkinMedica line at my office which is pretty good but I still like the cheep stuff better. It actually moisturizes better than the expensive stuff.

I've been using Neutrogena's L-Lysine anti-cellulite gel/cream and taking L-Lysine supplements.  Mostly on the upper arms / bat wings, which were REALLY bad.  I've also been doing a decent amount of shoulder/bicep/tricep work with the weights.

It's taken a little over a month and I DO see a difference.  It hasn't completely fixed the problem, but the lumpiness under the skin has smoothed out quite a bit and the skin feels tighter and like it bounces back better.  The additional muscle development also takes up a little of the sagginess (pulling it up into the top of the shoulder area, where it never was before) so that's helped less dangle.  But until I get to goal and maintain it for a while, I won't know how bad it really is.

I would dearly love to be able to afford plastics on my upper arms and something for the turkey-neck (which kinda shocked me - never thought my neck was THAT big!)... I doubt that will ever happen, though, so am trying my best to make what I can with mother nature.

I use the Jergens firming lotion and not sure that I see a difference, maybe it is working but I like the way it smells lol
