Wednesday Roll Call
Good Morning Linda & PA;
Good Luck with the job search Linda.
Today has me writing two papers for submission tomorrow, for two different classes. I also have a third assignment that is due but only received it this morning and need to do some on-line research. Monday I start another class but my Thursday class will be ending in a week so hopefully things will become less crazy. The new class I'm starting on Monday I have a lot of reading to do. Juggling all these classes while not working is trying when trying to figure out when to get out for a walk, I'm going to have to be much more dilligent about it when I get back to work.
I'm completely on my own today and tonight. Gene sees clients today and this evening and also all day and evening tomorrow so I won't see him till Friday....
So much for my exciting day.
Hope everyone has a great day....

Morning all!
Busy day ahead... Took off from work today, so much to do. Got my butt to the gym this morning for a good cardio workout to set the tone for the day. ;-)
I have my 6-month appointment with Dr. P today at 1, so will be heading out to Barix. Meeting a friend afterward for some lunch, then heading home for a bit... Have a meeting of the Guild tonight (board meeting followed by regular meeting). In the spaces in between, I've got about 15 other errands to run. Yikes!
Last night, I had my first visit with my primary doc in 5 months. He was super-pleased with my progress (even though his scale STILL weighs 7 pounds heavier than any other scale I encounter anywhere in my life), my blood work, my energy level, etc. First time in a long time that I've looked forward to a doc appt!
Also last night I had my followup MRI from this spring. Hopefully it will still be clear and I can get signed off by the oncologists. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Linda,
My dear friend, I know first hand how tough it can be out there and all I can say is what I did was got up every morning, put the pot of coffee on, had my vitamins, breakfast, gave Dillinger some time and then got on the computer to research jobs via the various sites and also companies that I was interested in working for, where I posted my resume and set it up so that when a job came available that I qualified for, I would get a notification about it and apply for the job with a cover letter and such. I sent out probably 200 resumes, but the end result was I got a job, while not easy, it's persistence that works. I spent the better part of 3 to 4 hours a day searching online for jobs. Don't lose faith, the right situation will present itself to you! Me and Dillinger are rooting for you!
As for my day, well I am at work now and will get back to it shortly, but I am looking forward to hanging out with one of my sponsees that I met as a result of attending meetings here in the area where I work and tonight we are going to dinner to celebrate her 1st sober anniversary and then to a meeting where she will pick up her 1 year chip. After that I will head home to my best bud, Dillinger.
Wishing you all a great day! If you are facing challenging life situations, I hope that my prayers and positive thoughts will aid you in your situation.
Hugs, Laureen

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

Oh I agree with you Laureen its very depressing and now Jasper had some goofy allergic reaction to bug bites and I had him treated and now Elton has the same problem. I know I have no right to yipe considering what you are going thru with Dillinger believe me I know . It just seems like when it rains it pours and I am so much happier when I work I feel like I am serving a purpose if you know what I mean. I do pet sitting for a pet sitter service but its not a full time job and it doesn't guarantee me a certain income you get the drift I am trying to hang in there but thank you everyone for your support I really do appreciate it. I have never had such a time finding employment in all of these years. Times are bad I know but this is the craziest and longest I have ever seen it. I know how Geoff feels when he tells us he wants to go back to bed and yank the covers over his head. Sorry Geoff not trying to be insensitive. But you all did make me feel so much better with your positive thoughts, support and prayers and for that I am so grateful for.
Linda,
I hear you, I never went on more than 3 interviews in my years of working, never sent out more than a handful of resumes, but this is our generations "Great Depression" and slowly my friends that got laid off when I did are finding jobs, some are taking temp jobs in the hopes it will lead to perm, others just sat back and took "vacation" or classes to brush up skills that went largely unused, seeing as the government will pick up the tab in many instances. So there are lots of avenues to explore and yeah, I know how when it rains it pours, after all Dillinger got sick to the tune of an $8600 vet bill and then I lost my job all in a matter of a 3 week period, oh and let's not forget he also had bitten a friend of my roommate, so I was paying her doctor bills too, but thankfully the Pet Insurance I pay for monthly gave me back $3200 of the vet bill and while it was pretty scary, something good came out of it for me, as I now work closer to home and Dillinger is still here, the amazing wonder dog is what I call him and I think it is the love and time I can now spend with him that keeps him with me! So you will get through this and something good will come of it all, but as the old expression says, it's hard to see the forest from the trees. . .
Hugs, and positive thoughts being sent out for you! Laureen

Hi Linda,
I am not fairing very well these days. Had the flu or some silly bug over the weekend and I am having an emotional meltdown the past few weeks on top of it.
Today has me at work, and then home to crash. I am in need of a good tidying of my apartment and then some R&R.
Hav a good day.

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate it. I will do my best to try and not get on the scale. My NET suggested I get back on the protein shakes. I am drinking one now.
Too top things off my best friend was diagnosed with stage 3 hodgkin's lymphomia today and my mom isn't doing too well.
What a day!!!!
