Wednesday Roll Call
Morning all.. good luck with the continued job hunt Linda. I don't know what I would do if I was in that situation right now.
Today has me working 6:15-10:00. Then, I am off to get gas and my coffee drink at Sheetz--never made it last night. From there, I am off to Plymouth Meeting for our pre-craziness off site event at Dave & Busters. It should be fun and I just realized this morning that I haven't seen most of these people since the last off site event in May. SOOOOO, I will be wearing the jeans that everyone has complimented me on with a cute t-shirt.
We are "dismissed" from D&B around 3:30, which gives me plenty of time to get home to pick up Siehara, whose first day of after school choir starts today and ends at 5.
Once I pick her up, we will get something for dinner--probably out since I will be gone all day and didn't plan ahead to make something in the crockpot.
Then, I MAY head to the gym. Not sure, I am still pretty sore from the past 2 days of working the same parts and will be working with Rocco tomorrow on those same parts. It will probably be a good idea to rest today.
That's it for me.. I've rambled enough.
Have a great day everyone!!!!

Good morning Linda and all of PA - Linda - good luck with the job search - I look around at MANY of my friends struggling with the same thing and am reminded how lucky I am to be in a union position, even though there are days when I want to torture a teenager, (And sometimes do :)), I am very lucky to have a steady paycheck and a relatively stable career!
So - about that career - I am here at school until late today - I will not rush home at my normal 3:15 time because I have an appointment with my Rabbi later this afternoon, so I will stay at school and get some more grading done.....I hope - I have to learn to shut my classroom door - people will then stay out! I have a meeting with the rabbi to discuss the rest of the semester teaching 10th graders - it is going well so far! Then tonight I am home - I need to figure out an exercise routine - I could possibly go to the pool tonight, but then I am leaving the kids home alone - again, not such a big deal - my son is 14, however, he and my 11 year old could quite possibly kill each other! However, Comcast On Demand is one option, so is the Wii Fit that is burning a whole sitting in myliving room mocking me! UGH!!!!!!
That is my day - Everyone have a nice chilly Wednesday....getting ready for the Phils tomorrow night! :)

Good morning everyone - I'm at work today and even tho some days its hard to pull myself out of my nice, warm bed I am thankful to have this job and do love it. Linda, you will find something perfect for you and soon - have faith!! As much as you love animals is there something you could do or look for in that field?
Geoff, Geoff, Geoff - others have said it but I will repeat it - PUT THE DAMN SCALE AWAY!!! You are torturing yourself right now and that's just not healthy - and even tho you may not be losing pounds chances are you're losing inches - you body is going thru so many changes right now that to weigh yourself daily is just sheer torture. So please, do yourself a favor and STEP AWAY FROM THE SCALE - LOL!!!
Quiet day for me at work - lots of folks out traveling again. I'm working on some new workout playlists on my MP3 and trying to figure out our new insurance and now they're changing our Savings & Security Program - please, people - one major change at a time - my head is going to explode!!! ARGH!
One side note - my daughter is having an MRI and MRA today to see if there is an aneurysm causing her severe headaches when she works out - I'm staying positive that there isn't one and these new headaches are from new meds she's taking...saying lots of prayers.

Well I am feeling good today and not looking for ward to my ultrasound in the morning. I have to be there at 9AM and have 32 oz of water before I get there. Good greif.

Wow, my first roll call response!
I'm new to this group, so I'll say a bit about myself...
My name is Nikki McGeary, and I work as a proofreader for an educational materials publisher. It's part-time, because a couple years ago I went back to school full-time, and since I finished my AA degree, I've wanted to go back to full-time work, but my employer won't do it, for "budgetary reasons." Feh. So, I cling to this job, even though it's not enough money. My poor fiance', Mark, is shouldering most of the bills.
Anyway, I've consulted with Dr. Pupkova at Barix in Langhorne, PA, and am currently working through insurance requirements. I should be able to submit everything for approval soon. My insurance, BC/BS of Illinois, is apparently one of the tougher companies regarding approval for bariatric surgery, so I really have to cross my t's and dot my i's. If anyone has any advice regarding this, please don't hold back!
I am really looking forward to having this surgery, as soon as I can. I feel like my life is on hold until I get it done.
Take care, all, and I look forward to communicating with you in the future!

Nikki,
Welcome to the group and to Roll Call! Dr. Pupkova is awesome and you couldn't be in better hands. Her insurance folks are "da bomb"... they will help in any way they can, even to suggesting the key words that your doc needs to insure are in his/her writeups of your pre-op visits to ensure that they are communicating clearly to the insurance company. I had Aetna (at the time of my surg), which is one of the toughest out there... took me 6 months to get clearance, whi*****luded 3 "pendings" of the file. Best advice is just patience and persistence. Document EVERYTHING... and keep copies yourself so you can forward to them if they need additional info. Follow any prep to the letter (mine required 3-month nutritionist visits, plus 6 months of doc-supervised diet, for example... I kept a food log, nutritionist log, and doc recorded specifics at each visit).
Hang in there!

Welcome to one of the best places for support on OH! Lots of wonderful peeps here to help you in your journey.
Just an FYI, in case you haven't begun to already, make an appointment with your PCP and start a weightloss program, it may not be necessary, but sometimes insurance companies require a 6 month pre-op doctor supervised diet, so better to have started it and not need it than the other way around. Good luck as you begin this wonderful lifelong journey towards healthier living!

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen
