Congratulations, I  was the same way. My husband and daughter thought I was crazy the way I acted when I got off the phone. My surgery is 5 days after yours!  Here's to finally being loosers!

Hey, Congrats to you!!!  When are you starting your pre-op diet? Are you doing a pre-op diet?  I called this morning and checked with the hospital about billing and how they do all that, and if I am going to be required to pay anything upfront, I do not want any surprises!!  Luckily they said they bill my Insurance first and then bill me and I can set up a payment arrangement with no interest to pay my portion, WHEW!!  I was a little worried, I have the money in savings but that is part of my "oh crap" fund and I like to know it is there just in case.  How long are you taking off work?  Me not much, I am the only income for my family and really don't work "hard" that really sounds bad, but I am very spoiled.

It is so hard to wrap your head around everything. i called my benefits department prior to starting the process I knew that we had coverage (working for the Ins Co) but was not sure of all the required steps and what I was going to be responsible for. I was happy when they said only my $250.00 deduct would apply and the rest covered at 100%, I knew my deductible would be met prior to this so I am happy for that.
The Weight Loss Clinic is not requiring me to start any pre-op diet, They just advised to eat smart  I continue to chart everything I eat, That helps to keep me on track day to day. As far as time off I am looking at 2 to 3 weeks, but not for certain I have a hiatal hernia that Dr. Currie will pull up and stitch so I am not sure how that will weigh in on my time off.
I noticed that you have Dr Garber, a good friend of mine also had him, she was very pleased with him.

I called my Insurance before hand as well, but I just want to make sure!!

It is amazing how things can differ from doc to doc .

I really like Dr. Garber, he seems really nice, and very knowledgeable.  I wish I could just speed up the hands of time, just a bit.  I am glad she like him as well, I look forward to comparing notes on how we are feeling in the near future.
