3 month check up
Yesterday I had my 3 month visit with Dr. Pupkova.
All is going great - labs look good. I'm going to ask my PCP about discontinuing the BP medication entirely (we've already cut it in half). I'm absolutely loving the changes in my body, my stamina, and my life!
Signs of success:
Nothing hurts. I used to take tylenol almost daily for aching feet, hip joints, or whatever.
My ankles aren't swollen.
I can do a full hour aerobics class without dying at minute 22.
Clothes! Love it! (Down from 20/22 and 2X to regular Misses 16 and Large.
I actually caught myself crossing my legs the other day!
My weight is down 40# from my day of surgery, and 54# from my pre-surgery high weight.
Which brings up a question - how do you count your weight loss anyway? From your highest? (After all, you've lost that weight too!) Or from your surgery date, because the loss from that point is attributed to surgery?

Congratulations!!! Sounds like you're doing fantastic with everything. I count every pound I lost - pre and post op because I lost 50 lbs prior to surgery thru the insurance requirements I had to meet and Dr Boe's famous 10 day liquid diet, so I always count from my highest weight - like you said, you lost it - count it!
Keep up the great work - isn't it wonderful to feel so good?!

Lynn,
Great news (i was also in to see Dr. P yesterday, so maybe we crossed paths!)!!! and all signs of great work.
Count from your high weight... that weight that you lost prior to surgery was probably some of the hardest work you've had to do, and why wouldn't that "count"? Give yourself the credit wherever it's due.
Way to go!
Karen
